Title: Issue with sounds
Post by: Spikes on October 26, 2012, 10:22:25 PM
Seems that whenever I launch the game and fly, I have to alt tab out and back in to get my engine sounds and stuff...my damage sounds never play (damage on my plane). I use TB's sounds but not sure what is causing this issue...first time having this problem. I have to alt tab each sortie too.

Check your device selection in Options->Preferences->Game Sounds.  Just guessing your motherboard has a sound chip and you are using a USB headset or another sound card and something has messed with the device settings.

Some applications (such as iTunes) will do that without telling you about it.

Currently:
Speaker Layout Use Windows Configuration
Speakers: Primary Sound Driver
Headset: Primary Sound Driver

My headset is plugged into the back of my PC. With my new keyboard, it comes with an integrated sound card and the option to plug my 2 3.5mm jacks into the back of it rather than my mobo I/O. Which would be better/worse, and would it help with this issue?

The "Primary" drivers can change when there is more than one sound card in the system.  If you are not using one of them, disable it in the device manager.

I will try that...it happened before I got the keyboard, with the onboard sound anyway...some weird stuff indeed. I just didn't get how some sounds play while others don't.

Spikes hmm all my sounds are the exact same format so theoretically one cant play and one not.
Agree with skuzzy has to be driver or hardware related.
