Title: Offline Drone Flight Path
Post by: Tinkles on October 29, 2012, 07:39:43 AM
Was thinking of a combat move I would like to see done, however don't know how to "program" in the staged missions, so... possibly add "Programmable Flight Paths" in Offline Mode?

 :noid

You hit a button (Ex. Same system Alt + R for record), and it starts recording your current flight path.  You do all the fancy moves you want, and it records them. When you're done, you save it.  In order to use it would be simple, Options, Arena Setup, Offline Drones then "Change Drone Flight Path".  You pick which drone to change, then their plane to what yours was when you recorded it.  Then that plane flies where your plane did, either in a 'loop' like the current drones do, or once killed simply "dies" and returns to it's normal cycle.

Even better, (for you who like to do tricks) have the flight paths of several planes "programmed", and set them off at once, going through hangers w/ smoke or flying formations etc.

Anyways, just figured that might benefit the game.

There are written and video tutorials for staged missions....

Look sir, I am not trying to say that Staged Missions aren't Valuable and that the guides aren't informative.

However, what caught my eye was this "The general rule of thumb for creating routes is to keep it simple and reasonable. Think about "Is it possible for the plane to do this" - if you think it cannot - THEN DON'T!"

So this way, if you can fly your plane like this while "recording yourself" then you should know that, that flight path was possible.
This is just to make it easier, not to take away from staged missions,a nd not to undermine them; but just to make the game better and to help other players practice.

My understanding is that the whole point of this is to make it easier for people to do simple practice missions that will help them become better pilots
It can give you a better understanding of how your plane will react at 30k compared to 2.5k
