Here in the UK a hypnotist set up on tv a deadbeat no hoper to believe he was in an Apocalypse...with zombies and all!
it was meant to push him to become a better person and take life by the balls, turn him into an Alpha male and take control of his life....
The question is ..was it a tv setup, or real hypnosis?
heres a link that sums it up...anyone watch it~?

Is this the lead singer out of "Hot Chocolate"?

Did you see the episode in which he trained a sleeper assassin? Scary stuff, had the guy frikkin oblivious to icewater immersion just to see how strong a candidate he was.

I saw the programme. It seemed to me that if the subject was an actor then he deserved an oscar. I think the key thing for Derren Brown is to find suitable subjects for his 'experiments'. Not everyone would be fooled. I'm not really sure how hypnosis works but I think only certain very suggestible people are suitable.
The guy in programme did well and came across as quite brave. But the thing to remember that the entire thing was carefully choreographed and scripted to ensure he did what he did because he had no choice. He was directed at every turn and channeled into doing what he did without him being aware of the situation. If he had any real initiative of his own he might acted differently. It's no accident that a lazy guy who did nothing with his life was used. He was a useless lazy lump. If they selected an ex special forces member or someone like that. Derren Brown might have lost control of him. The subject had no initiative of his own.
The end of the programme implied that the experience has turned his life around. It won't, he'll go back to his old ways quick enough.
Derren Brown is an extremely clever manipulator who perfectly understands human psychology. He does some interesting work.

I actually half expect the series of programs to end with Brown looking in to the camera, telling us that the biggest shills of all have been us, the TV viewers, because we've believed as real a series of events over which he's had total control, have a nice day.
(Was still pretty impressed with the infra-red camera on that guy in the ice water.)
