Way back in 1965 I went to Chino airport in southern california and there were two P-51D's sitting on the flight line with Costa Rica markings. They were military surplus planes and they were both for sale.
Each plane had a "For Sale" sign in the cockpit and the price for each one was $10,000. NOW THOSE WERE THE GOOD OLD DAYS.

Their (Chino) air show's theme/aircraft this year was P-51s (same as our's, likely for the same reason too with the Red Tail's movie and buzz). Our museum's P-51 was unfortunatley finishing a top-half overhaul then and wasn't able to attend the gathering, but it was extremely special/rare to see ~ a dozen P51s together on the flight line that weekend.

I'm curious where those CR birds you saw ended up, might even of been at the same airport again this year.
