I saw that in the news today. Very cool
For more reading look up 1 way bullet proof glass. An Israeli guy figured out how to make bullet proof glass that you can return fire through.

Wow. Came a long way from steel plate armor huh?

Hover tanks....sweet!

You wind the window down?

I wonder how much of this material would be required to stop 7.62x51 NATO or 7.62x54R ball ammo? Stopping 9mm isn't remarkable as ordinary low cost ballistic glass can stop handgun ammo.

Say its on your car. You can return fire with the bulletproof windows rolled up. It's only bulletproof when shot at from the outside.
-
How bulletproof is it once you start poking bullet sized holes in it from the inside? Also how do you avoid murder charges if the
outside guy cannot hurt you, yet you shoot him?

If you need a bulletproof car, you're probably going to be using it someplace a bit like the wild west. So there won't be any 911 or murder charges.

I would guess x2 or x3 the thickness it currently is, what i am most impressed with is the ability to "catch" bullets, and seal them in from behind. Maybe they could be removed later for tests to see what weapons fired them and such, for criminal investigations. Also note the lack of fracture to the view, no splinters or huge white zone around the impact, just very clear. Amazing.
We need every aircraft and chopper coated with this stuff or at least the windows & belly's ASAP. TAX me..tax me to hell and back, but give my men and women this stuff,NOW....right now, like it was the day after yesteryears christmas! YA DIG!? :rock :pray :x

If he shot first, its called attempted homicide. Legally one has the right to shoot back in self defense if shot at.
Now, if you're doing the shooting first then you're probably gonna land a spot in jail.

NOTHING is bulletPROOF only bullet resistant. By him firing at you first he demonstrated the capacity and desire to cause fatal harm. Just because you are reasonably safe does not mean youd need to take an unreasonable risk such as hoping the glass would work.
As for needing to stop rifle rounds. Something tells me im still stuck with my heavy bellybutton ceramic plates :(

I disagree. Most of the hidden type armored vehicles are built to blend in with fairly low intensity conflict areas..ie luxury cars or SUVs. In
places where they are tossing RPGs around you'd need something that looks like a tank.
The interesting thing I found when dealing with these vehicles when I worked at the airport was the only way you could easily identify them
was that they rode slightly higher due to the higher pressure in the run flats and the poor SOB in the driver seat had to open the door in the
Suburban to talk because he couldn't roll down his window. This was US Secret Service btw. They ran about a 5 car caravan when the VIP
flew in, including 3 Suburbans, 2 normal and one protected.

Most armored vehicles are not constructed to look otherwise.

Unless you're a Palestinian. They'll just bulldoze your neighborhood upon suspicion.

How is that hate speech? To me it's just a valid comment.
