Does not make any sense given there are not many 2048 textures in the game, at the moment.

Along with Win7 updates, my Nvidea drivers were also  updated to 306.97. Happened about a week ago and since, my FR's are down to 30-45 from a rock steady 59.

Skuzz would you suggest a roll back? If so, to what?

Max, never, never allow Microsoft to update a video driver.  It will make a mess of your computer.  You need to do a thorough removal of the driver (add/remove will not do the trick) and then install a previous version.

Is there a driver cleaner utility you'd recommend?

I have never used one.  I do it manually.

You can find the new drivers directly from NVidia or your card manufacturer (like evga, for example).
