Title: Flying Jeep
Post by: USAFCAPcTSgt on November 22, 2012, 07:47:05 PM

The Airborne Forces Experimental Establishment in Manchester, UK began work in 1940 on attaching rotor blades to a jeep. Nicknamed the ‘Rotabuggy’, initial tests involved dropping the jeep from heights of a few meters while it was filled with concrete to demonstrate it could take the impact without damage.
The jeep was then fitted with additional equipment including the rotor blades, a tail fairing with twin rudderless fins, a rotor control next to the steering wheel and glider navigational instruments. In 1943, the first test flight was conducted when the Rotabuggy was toed behind a Bentley and managed to glide at speeds of up to 65 mph.
The initial flights had limited success as handling proved difficult but after some modifications, the flying qualities of the vehicle were officially described as “highly satisfactory”.

The games needs the closest thing to a helicopter.

It would be WAY too overpowered IF introduced to Aces High.

Everyone would be laughing so hard at the sight of it they would auger.

But seriously, what use would it have in AH m8? I think there are many better options to work on first, however I would literally LMAO every time if I saw that lil bugger hovering around the MA  :rofl

But it'd be slower and 10x easier to hit than a goon. I don't think it would be good for anything but a good laugh TBH.

It's an autogyro, not a helicopter so it would have to be towed.

If you shoot one down, does it count as an aircraft kill or a vehicle kill?

Why not both?  I aircraft kill and one gv kill at the same time like killing two birds with one stone.
