Title: Reconnect and WEP
Post by: JOACH1M on November 28, 2012, 10:23:06 PM
Everytime I re-enter flight after a loss of connection I come to a play with the WEP not working due to the engine being to hot.

Anyone else notice this?

I think I read that that was as planned. Maybe as a small penalty to make sure to catch cord pullers.

I have discoed before I used WEP in both a Niki and 109K-4. WEP was usable afterward as well as DT (someone had stated a problem with it in another post). The only thing I noticed is that after rearm I needed to cycle thru secondary weapons a few times to get everything to work right.
I am just wondering if using WEP before or at the point of disco is a key factor. And does being on the DT vesus being on another tank have an affect on what happend in a disco.

When you have wep on and disconnect, when you reconnect it will be gone. It has nothing to do with DTs.
I have started a very simmilar thread like 2 months ago, and was told it goes this way by design.

I usually take off on WEP, so I don't know that if you don't use it at all anytime before a disconnect and you reconnect that it'll be perfectly fine.  But this is as designed I believe.  I've did wish for some added variables to be added to the script to maybe prevent abuse but also keep us from always having maxed out WEP upon reconnect.

Is it the Niki or Ki-84 that has the 2-minute flat WEP cooloff-recharge rate?  I know the K4 only takes a few minuets to recharge most of its WEP.  When I'm in a 190D it's not so annoying due to its fast recharge/recovery rate, but in any American iron it's a more annoying matter.
