Title: What's The Point In Having Clocks In-Game?
Post by: skorpx1 on December 03, 2012, 08:19:46 PM
So lately iv'e seen posts about the in-game clocks and such and wondered why they even exist. Is the in-game time essential to anything in the MA's/DA or is it there for fun? I'm not one to worry about time in a game (Except Fallout New Vegas. The Creature of The Night perk is a nice one to have.) and I don't see why they would need to be there at all.

Not everything in the game revolves around the MA/DA. Clocks are needed, trust me.

I know that much, SEA arenas are obviously reliant on clocks. The MA/DA seems like the least likely of places to need an in-game clock though.

You cant launch missions without a clock. People run missions all the time in the MA.

"everyone grab a B17, we're gonna start a bomber mission whenever. you have whenever minutes to get ready! then we'll start whenever"--- yup, no need for a game clock at all!  :bolt:    :D

AH used to have dark time in the MA. You needed to know how much time is left till dusk, so you can get the sheep in their pens in time.
Yes, AH used to have sheep too.

Maybe Santa will bring us sheep back to game this year.  Lol nothing like rolling a tiger on its back from hitting sheep

Why doesn't the clock match real time? It seems off. At 12:00 the clock should be at the top of the hour no matter the time zone.  :headscratch:

And whats with the Arena reset? 4 mins to arena change is over in like under 3 minutes.  :furious

I believe the default time when an arena gets reset is 12:00. Unless the arena is reset and comes back up EXACTLY at the top of the hour, the game time (minute hand) will never match real time unless someone manually goes in and changes the game clock - which will not happen anywhere other than custom arenas, the AvA and the Special Events arenas.

I'm rarely on when an arena is reset. Are you starting your timer as soon as the first reset warning pops up, or does it take you a minute or so to notice the message?

There also used to be a revolver and a flask on the shelf below the desk, but since there are many underaged players they removed them.

Really? Instead the young players who are apparently so influenced by the sight of a cartoon revolver that needs removing, can fly around witg cannons and banks of .50's, and even a .45 if they like? Seems wierd :headscratch:

Seriously, can you see the cannons? I can't tell a pitot tube from a cannon by just its looks... Caliber is just numbers, actually only partial numbers. You can't harm anyone with a partial number, can you? Perhaps it was just the hip flask...

What are the odds that a confused teenager will come to school with a P-51 and start strifing everyone?
Now replace P-51 in the above sentence with a pistol.

I still think it is silly though. It is like beeping the F word on TV, but it is OK to show it as long as you dont get to see the tip of the nipple and the sausage.

For safety reasons, of course. They might have got virtually drunk.  :rock

There used to be a night time in this game too. But it was quite annoying if you lived in certain timezones and had to fight blindfolded.

Somewhere in the world. It dose match real time. Just not where you are at

start strifing everyone?

It's always entertaining when a typo fits so well.

I like the arguements people have over having sex or violence on TV, given a choice how would you rather be killed ?
