How do you kill a tiger with a panther when tiger is 1500 out and is angled at you so front corner of it is facing you. Ran in to this today. I hit him with 8 shots all in different spots and everything bounced off. He hit me about 4x before I exploded. At this distance and and his angle(vet GV guys use it all the time with tigers) it doesn't seem like even a panther can hurt it.

Reposition.
-
Hold fire and reposition, wait for him to advance further towards you (if he doesn't know you're there), or call in air support.
-
As with all of the tanks in AH, the two trump cards are range and angle of impact. The Tiger is second only to the King Tiger in terms of being difficult to destroy.
The easiest thing per say to control is the range in which you engage the target in. If you see an enemy Panther out there about 2000 yards away know that anything "below" a Tiger has very little if any chance of defeating it. Mind you, that includes Pzr IV H, T34/85, M4/76, M18, Pzr IV F/2, etc. Your best bet is to close the gap to at least 1400 yards and get as many rounds on him before he is able to respond because the Panther is 3rd in AH in terms of AP, only the King Tiger and Firefly have better AP so you're taking a gamble going head on in s slug fest if you're in anything lesser than a King Tiger, Tiger, or Panther (which is usually the case).
Keep in mind the biggest weakness of the Tiger is the attrocious travserse rate of the turret. It can pivot the entire tank faster than it can traverse the turret. The biggest bain of the Tiger is multiple fast moving targets. It has a 7 second reload and a very slow turret traverse. A pair of M18's is the Tiger's worst nightmare.

Figured he's prob immune to a panther in that situation. I just though that sweet gun on the panther could kill a tiger even when it's positioned think that(was surprised its not lol).

If you watch this tutorial, you will see the Panther does need to repeatedly reposition:

I think it could but you'd need to get a bit closer for it to penetrate the thick front armor. In which case you're repositioning, but towards being closer and directly infront of him (many would argue it safer to wait patiently if he doesn't know your position, or to reposition behind him where he isn't paying attention and needs a few seconds to travers his gun around to).

Lol haha nice little tutorial

Lag......only way to splane it Lucy :rofl

Tiger I's turret should be vulnerable to you.

I put 3 rounds in mantel and all bounced. Even skipped a round off the top

Hmmmm.... Seems a bit wierd. The Panther is penning 117mm at 2000m range, and around 145mm at 1000m, IIRC.
So 130mm doesn't seem like an unreasonable estimate for 1500m.
Unless you're just hitting at an off angle, or on the sections where the armor from the turret and mantlet overlap, you should be able to penetrate without any troubles.
Personally, I would aim at the track if you're just not penetrating; it will do three things to help you.
1) he will list to one side, and so will throw off his aim, since his sight isn't adjusted for the new angle of the gun barrel, and is unable to adjust in the correct direction.
2) It will imobilize him, so he will be unable to pursue should you wish to withdraw, or move to face you if you reposition.
3) If you reposition, he will be unable to use his mils-radian gunsight to aquire your new range, and so will have to use the guess-and-check method.

Tanks no longer "list" to one side when the track has been diabled. The best benefit of tracking a Tiger is forcing it to rely %100 on that horribly slow traversing turret (worst in AH).
As far as not being able to beat a tank's armor even though the AP charts says "can do", keep in mind that the angle of impact means everything.
-
Oh, right.... track damage got changed. Forgot about that.
And yes, you're right. Angle of impact is everything, or at least a big part.
Aces High doesn't seem to take the chance of a random deflection caused by the sloped armor into account. From what I can tell, if the line of sight thickness is less than the penetration of the impacting shell, it will penetrate.
However bearing that in mind, the round would still have to impact at around a 40 degree angle for the LOS thickness of the armor to be 130mm. Given the nice flat trajectory of the Panther's round, that seems a bit unlikely, unless there is also a not inconsiderable difference in elevation between the two vehicles.
For me personally, I'm going to chalk it up to the Tiger I's irregularly-shaped mantle screwing with the LOS thickness at the exact point of impact, rather than the angle of the incoming round to the turret front.
-
i was also about 50-70 ft above the tiger, on the side of a hill. so his mantel would have been at an angle similar to / and my round would have been arching down, so i think i would hit mantel at almost 90 degrees and his turret at about a 65 degree angle...i made a lame paint drawing lol...thoughts about why 4 turret shots failed to do anything but bounce off. Easy to see in this video that the panther is more maneuverable, but in the end the tiger gets behind the panther and its all over.

I know I am late to the convo...but
there is no such thing as a "panther" they are ether Jaguars or leopards...unless we are talking about the Florida Panther which is just a cougar.....and there is NO way one of those would be able to kill a Tiger especially a Siberian Tiger they get like 800 lbs they would just eat the "panther" even the Bengal tiger would have the "panther" for lunch.

With the Tigers slow turret traverse it's good to keep moving while attacking, i very seldom see anyone firing while on the run it's a good technique to use on the heavily armored Tanks plus it makes it harder for them to get a good range on you when your not a static target.

I agree with this to some degree, just be very, very, VERY carefull to keep your eyes on where you're driving, so you don't smack into a tree and flip, or run head-long into an enemy tank with the gun to kill you, or otherwise end up unhappy.
Also I would advise using this sparingly and only on lone targets. It doesn't let you dodge shells that are already on an intercept course for the side of your turret, it just makes it harder for the enemy gunners to put a shell on that trajectory. However if enough high-velocity steel is flying around, someone is bound to get lucky.
-
Easiest way I've killed Tigers and King Tigers is simply flank, if someones near you have them take pop shots to get his attention, with a 34/85, Panther and M18 simply run to get a clear good shot from the side, make use of terrain and be patient.
Most tankers are not, thus why they get killed moving around to much.
Panther is a medium tank, its apples to oranges trying to compare, just use the panthers strengths to tigers weakness, 3 shots is more then enough to kill a Tiger/ before its turret swings around.

A Panther (Panthera) is any and all of the above as well as lions and tigers.

If you can get them to chase you around a tree they turn into butter.
