Title: Things I do not get, Part XXIV:
Post by: Lusche on December 15, 2012, 03:39:37 PM
How a bomber pilot flying a set of Lancasters at 25.000 feet to the enemy strats can believe, and publicly state that there is "no way you could know I was there" and he could only be found by the use of 'spiez'. :headscratch:

Well, to quote one of my fictional heroes:

Remind me to explain to you the concept of the human ego.

What I find intensely amusing is, people often don't notice that not being on radar in some sectors make it even easier to find you if the base isn't flashing.

As is so often the case, something bad happens and people assume it couldn't possibly be anything other than cheating.

Wiley.

Last time I got called a spy I found a NOE Lanc raid in a jet, I hate to tell them their mindless sheep followers don't stay under dar and when I see a random dar pop up for 5 seconds then disappear out of sector, generally, it's a good sign there's a NOE in bound  :old: (Ended that sortie getting shot down with 1 engine by a high pony with 25 kills O.O )

Last night in FSO, Redbull and Scotch took their B-29's and chased a KI-61 all the way from 20K to about 9K.  Does that count?  It should count because they lost a lot of parts in the dive.   It was not seen as excellent by the other bomber-type-dudes who we were flying with.  They stopped speaking to us.

One of my secret, dark shames is I was climbing out from an airfield on runway heading once.  I saw a set of buffs headed over the field, and was figuring I'd get them once I'd gotten to alt.  I'm cruising along, chatting to squaddies on vox, on autoclimb not a care in the world...  Then I hear engines.  Then I see tracers as I start to jink.  Then I die horribly to 999000 as he bounces me in a set of B17s.

I don't know if I've ever felt that stupid in my gameplaying career before or since.

Wiley.

Let's face it, if the guy's stupid enough to take buffs that high and fly that far just to pork strats,
he ain't exactly next in line for the next opening at Rocket Scientist School.

I was climbing after some B29s and they split up so I went after the lower formation and turned my back on the higher b29s.

Just as I am about to hammer the formation, I hear engines and then towered.

Pretty sure it was snailman who jumped me with his b29.

see, it's people like you who ruin it for others like me.   I'm trying to make a living giving away cv's for money via paypal and here you are doing it for chocolate chip cookies.  I'm sorry but Bank of America won't take cookies for my mortgage payment so please cease this foolishness.

Thanks,

Once you've popped up above 100 feet, the drones acquire you and will follow you back down. I've noticed (while flying at < 50 ft off the water) that the drones tend to fly slightly higher than me when I'm down at that low of a level. It's a bit more dicey over land, and have seen people drag their drones through tree tops and lose them.
