I say fake. The shadows and the hang time of the toddler once released gives it away.

You mean the slow motion at the end of the video?
Shadows didn't look mismatched. They line up with the shadows from the person and the trees. Hangtime is purely an artifact of slow motion.

Soon as I read the video title I knew it's fake because golden eagles are not found in Mountreal! You might see the odd Bald but never a golden around here.
I have see some video of Mongolians hunting with eagles, something to see a golden take a wolf down! Once the bird sets it's talons in there's not much that any animal can do. I understand the pressure is very close to that of a pitbull or Rotties jaw pressure. Come to think of it,my money's on the eagle over the dogs!
:salute

One person posted on youtube
"There is another good reason for having a fat kid" :lol

Easy, they get a bird's eye view of their houses and automobiles.

I'd wager that this was a set-up as well.

It's faked, at the 3 second mark the wing disappears for a moment. Later on when the eagle is flying down the shadow doesn't appear until its right next to the ground, it should be there when it's still by the tree.
-
I could tell it was a phoney just by the way it flapped its wings in those first few seconds.

I think it's really a sign of the times that this was taken as seriously as it was. People need to get out and learn at least a little bit about natural history. Time to break away from the electronic gadgets! Even if it was only for a minute or two a day it would be a significant improvement!
It's not only the shadow that's wrong, but even more obviously it's a matter of incorrect anatomy and incorrect movement.
The shape of the wings is totally wrong. Even in the beginning few seconds of flight at the start of the video the shape is wrong, and it just gets hokier from there. The wing shape is wrong for a golden eagle, and the color is wrong for a bald eagle. The color really isn't even right for a golden, but it looks like that's what the animators have attempted to copy.
As for incorrect movement, for those of us who've seen real golden eagles (or even videos) stooping and binding on a large quarry it's blatantly obvious that all of the movements of the bird in this clip are wrong. The whole "turn and swoop" sequence is completely incorrect... It looks more like a model airplane making an unrealistic bank-less turn than any self-respecting bird. There's absolutely no reason a raptor would make that type of approach to large ground quarry.

Yeah but the Hawk was real. I like this obne too was it an omen for Auburn? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RvCPk9Gq770 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RvCPk9Gq770)

Yea, I saw that clip too.
I couldn't care less about Auburn (or whomever), but I'm glad the bird wasn't hurt. I think the flexibility of the plexi window may have averted tragedy...
I know of a handful of raptors that have died in window collisions like that. It's amazing that a bird with the strength of an eagle has such a fragile skull and neck. I have a friend who almost had one of his hawks killed by hitting a window, and I had a falcon hit a window last year. Fortunately she was ok too.
I use my birds for a handful of educational lectures each year, and that clip shows one of the reasons I'm nervous and don't allow my birds to do too much free flying.
