Title: Terrain Editor V2.29 Patch 1
Post by: MachNix on December 20, 2012, 07:58:50 PM
Objects Tab > Obj Report > Check Terrain For: Non-flat Terrain
Terrain Editor crashes if 14 or more objects are found.  Typical Windows message: "ahedit.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close."

Objects Tab > Obj Report > Check Terrain For: Task Group Errors
Also crashes the Terrain Editor if there is no TG in the terrain.

Other minor things:

Check Terrain For: Task Group Errors
Does not report results (ie No errors found.) if there are no errors detected.

Tool Tip Popups:

Terrain Window Options > Cell Overlay On says "Save the selected objects as a new shape group."
Suggestion: "Display cell overlay."

Terrain Window Options > Snap says "Fill."  Sug: "Snap to vertices."

Terrain Window Options > Snap Spacing Textbox says "Fill."  Sug: "Distance between vertices in feet."

Options > Animation says "Refresh terrain." Sug: "Check to run animation."

Objects Tab > U Button says "How much damage is required to destroy the object." Sug: "Rotate object to point up - north."

Objects Tab > R Button says "Apply blending to the right of selected vertices." Sug: "Rotate object to point to the right - east."

Objects Tab > D Button says "Seconds an object will stray down when destroyed." Sug: "Rotate object to point down - south."

Can you send me the terrain source files that are causing these crashes?

The issue causing the crash was not that a task group is not in the terrain, but rather that you tried to use a CV as a different object type.
