What is the oldest Frontline combat aircraft still in use by any country?
-
I think the B-52 would be a contender since it's been in service since 1955.
ack-ack

I was guessing Mig 15-17 they have to be in use somewhere.
-
Maybe some light liaison aircraft? Like the Cessna O-1?
-
Do you guys want to break this down further between transport, fighters and bombers? I was thinking more of Bombers/Attack and fighters. Liason aircraft are cool aswell. I would suspect there are still some goons(or equivalent) still operational in smaller countries.

Mig-21s aircraft are still in service as a front line fighter. 1959 - now.
MDD F4s from verylate 1960 to now.
Northrop F-5 is a close. introduced in 1962. still in service with Yemeni Air Force.
Cessna A-37 Dragonfly light attack aircraft 1963-now
Yakovlev Yak-11 is still used as a trainer by the National Air Force of Angola. 1946 - now
Antonov An-2 is still in use as a light transport. production started 1947
I am sure there are some missing but thats what I could find atm.

The C-130 been around for quite a while as well. First flight of the prototype was in August 1954.

The new J models are quite something compared to the earlier models though :) Its good to see the Air Force continuing to take care of an upgrade the air frame.

I'm guessing there are C-47s still in use by some air force. That bird goes back to 1935.

I saw on wiki some MiG-17's were in use but I couldt verify elsewhere I declined to throw that out there. Think it was with Mali airforce or something.

I think there are some A-1 skyraiders somewhere in south America which pre-dates the B52

As far as I know there is still a JUNKERS JU52 flyable with the Swiss air-forces (which operated a number of them till the mid 80's).
I think it is stationed at Dübendorf Air Base (near Zurich) IIRC.
The JU52 first flew in 1932 making it about 76yrs old now.
