just a new thing for someone to whine about...
You didn't beat me.....you just got me with a mine
-
Lol... I'll be haplessly putting mines all over spawn points... Hide behind a tree and munch on some popcorn as I watch the fireworks.

...a good reason it is currently not a feature in the game.

I guess it would be funny if it happened to the other guy, how would you feel if you were the one being "mine camped"?
-
lol as Delirum would say, "window lickers".
-
I... so enjoy these forums...where ever you go, whatever you suggest, is usually shot down faster than i do in this game, without an ounce of ""maybe if we do this..." If it screws up, do it like they did for real back then, SCRAP IT! but at least entertain it a bit...

Lets think about it rationally for a second... You up an M3 and lets say you get 10 mines - for a max of 50 mines in which you can lay at a time - you roll down and spend 45 minutes mining a spawn point - no tanks get hit since they spawn randomly, You can't lay mines into town because
the entire game would need to be re-worked to either blow up or remove the mines from the town - easier to have m3s drop them like supply bloxes and hope a tank runs over them - or more so Sea mines - drop them outside of a port and hope Ships "Drive over them"....
Hours of work and nothing happens, lets be realistic - people want submarines in this game but surface fleets run at 32 or so knots while the fastest average speed of a sub was 20 knots on the surface to catch them..
Point is - Its just not worth really adding at this point, mining town would be kind of stupid since the roads would be "obvious mining points" or just outside of town - what value will they have other then someone wasting 30 minutes for nothing in hopes someone hits a mine?
If the game play was upgraded, it makes total sense down the road to add mines - they are a huge factor in warfare, however for aces high - many things can be added first.

Thanks Butcher for finally bring forth a well thought out reply. :aok

How about laying mines around the map room to kill troops that only disable tank treds and blow tires? An M3 could deliver you to the map room and you walk around dropping mines. Then you mount back into your M3 and leave the area if you don't step on a mine.
Are they dangerous to the layers countrymen as well as the enemy?
How long do they live after you drop them?
Could a just about to be captured airfeild be salted with mines to make your capture a pyirric victory? Hitech would probably set them to dissapear at the moment of capture.
What would be the maximum saturation of mines to a localised area like the grassy area around the town's map room?
Can you drop a bomb(s) or shoot HE to clear out a suspected mine feild?
Would freindlies be able to see the mines?
Would your enemies have some way to detect the mines?
Can a Storch drop mines after landing?
At the moment a single M3 resupplying the town ack is a major cloitus interruptus to our well laid hubris for taking towns. Mines would make you guys cry if their delivery in any way can be exploited as a last moment offensive action. Can you see some dweeb sneaking onto your airfeild and salting a few around a rearming pad if Hitech allows aircraft tires to set them off? Think of the screeching in here if Fester got caught rearming with 300 262 kills. That would be one for the accomplishments list though. *Sapper Master* - your mines destroyed 5 rearming fighters, or stopped 10 troops. Then instead of a star next to your ID you get a:
HOST: (sm)DweebMeister landed 10 kills in a Jeep of Mines Are Us.
This kind of nonsense might be just the thing you need when you don't feel like flying. Can you see a vTard hoard of jeeps rushing a town and your Vbase spawn and laying out tank mines everywhere between the town, spawn and airfeild just befor their NOE pops up and levels the town? I mean if FBDred can bum rush a town with a hoard of M3 and M18. Just think of the bum rushing with mine delivery. Dweeby yes but, you don't have to be Dr7 in a tank or INK in a fighter to get kills. Just dweeby and foolhardy enough to up an M3 or Jeep over and over again. I watch jeeps all the time bumrush onto vbases and not get hit by ack or manned fire.
This is a great idea but, we are not ready for all of it's player ingenious permutations of gameyness.

as long as mines were invisable to everyone.
and each side had engineers to both drop and detect mines.
