Finland received 14 Hurricane Mk Is from Britain in February 1940 but although 12 of these were made operational with 2.LeLv32 they arrived too late to see any action in the Winter War against the Soviets. By mid 1941 when the Continuation War started the Hurricanes were suffering from a lack of spares forcing the cannibalization of some of the aircraft to keep the rest operational.
The aircraft I've skinned is HC-452, which scored 2.5 kills against Soviet aircraft. This aircraft shows the Finnish paint scheme that was applied over the original RAF paint in late 1941. The rudder and rear tailwheel fairing from HC 455 has been fitted, both still in the original RAF paint.
HC-452 survived the war and was preserved for posterity. You can see photos of the real plane here (http://hurricanehc-452.blogspot.co.uk) and here (http://www.virtualpilots.fi/feature/photoreports/helsinginpuolustus2004/). I've reduced the level of corrosion and paint peeling the real aircraft shows since I guess some of this must have happened post war.

:O Very beautiful work! :x
It did say that the plane sat somewhere for a very good while. So "lightening" the corrosion and paint peeling makes sense. I hope it's accepted. :salute

EDIT: Well, it seems it eventually took my edit. :lol

Greebo, only you could make such an ugly aiframe look so, so good.
-
Very nice!
One detail, the proportions of the roundels are a bit off. Either the roundel is too large or the "hakaristi" is a tad too small.
I'm happy the way it looks, but if you want to be a perfectionist... ;)
You could also make the bright red gun covers less weathered as they were constantly renewed in use I'd believe they looked pretty fresh even on field aircraft.

Wow, just wow, great work Greebo!

Thanks guys, glad you like it.
Charge, you are right about the insignia, thanks for pointing it out. I'll alter that and change the gun patches too.
-
Fixed the insignia and the gun covers. I also substituted the RAF pilot for the one found in the Brewster.

Fine lookin aircraft that! :aok

When I first saw this a/c in 1978 it was at the yard of a flight museum slowly rotting away with bits of covers thrown over it along with the only surviving Blenheim which was also in bad shape.
I'm glad that both of these aircraft are now restored and that we will also have such an authentic skin in AH.

That is amazing! :x
All the smallest details are there!!
Thank you so much Greebo!!
EDIT/One thing I did notice is the dimensions of the national emblems seem to differ from the Finnish standard in your skin. They have now been reapplied during the latest restoration:

From the standard:

EDIT2/Sorry for not reading Charge's/yours posts before replying!!
