Anyone have any idea what happened to the Jokers on Friday Night the 5th of Jan. They were supposed to be leading the Defense of V34, but apperantly no one showed. Have to say, sure makes it hard to defend a target with only 10-11 Pilots.

That isn't the first time that has happened. Not sure what happened or if they are even participating in FSO any longer. I think the CM team should reach out to them if able.
-
As far as I know this is the first time this has happened in the two years I have been with Jokers. I will say this is the second fso in a row that we have drawn Japanese planes and I personaly dont fly them!
-
I don't show Jokers as an Active squad on axis or allied in FSO. If they were a no-show squad the CM's might of removed the squad from the site entirely.
Edit: They are not in the Email section but they are on the side assignments. Also looks like the plane request is at least 2 months behind.

All of the here-say is just, well, here-say. Read what Cane said and you can figure out why the Jokers are a no show.

So if you don't get the side/plane you wanted you don't show up?
Think how far this event would go if every squad did that.
You have something against playing a cartoon Japanese pilot for a few hours?
Personally if that's the reason, then I would be disappointed if the Jokers were allowed to fly FSO.

I was speaking as a indivdual not as a squad and any preference I have are mine and mine alone .The squad flew the last FSO with out be threatened, about being banned from FSO.
Personally I will choose how I want to spend my time, and yes if their plane sets that I'm not interested in, I will not participate. What the squad chooses to do is their business not mine.

Quite the team player.

Are you not interested because you have fears of flying aircraft out of your normal comfort zone?

While any of us who have been CiC or in other planner roles can certainly sympathize with Carver, there is no need for the rest of us to get on a high horse about it.
Some thoughts:
1.) All squadrons participating have reputations. Most of them are good ones.
2.) It would be nice if we could count on every individual in every squadron every week. But we can't and planners shouldn't. We all have to adjust during the planning step.
3.) The CM's do a great job with managing the squadron roster in FSO.
4.) In the past, squadrons that struggled with making numbers created alliances with other FSO squadrons so those that were interested in FSO had a group to fly with. That should still work.
5.) How are we all doing with consistently making our numbers?
I applaud Cane's response as an individual and he does not deserve a point-by-point...

My response was to recommend that the CM team contact Jokers Jokers and find out what happened.
As a planner or a CiC, you count on someone to be there, regardless of the ride, because they committed to the FSO rules as a squad when they were accepted into the "FSO community". At the very least, try to make minimum numbers. If the entire squad cannot make it, try to communicate that information so it can be included into the planning.
From a CiC or planner standpoint, it is absolutely maddening to plan on 2 or 3 squads to defend or attack something and one of those squads not show up, leaving the other squads to get slaughtered, ruining their night.
My point is that any squad that doesn't show up, their CO should at least explain whatever needs to be explained to the CM team (and not the community).
This really should be between the CM team and the squad in question IMHO.

First off, in my oppinion, there's no excuse for a complete no show without any comunication of at least to your side that this is going or possibly going to happen. That squads CO and or XO should know his roster and what's likely going to happen as far as numbers before that Friday. If it's going to be way off, let your CIC know. My guys tell me if they can't make it or possibly won't be able to make it for a frame, as far as I'm concerned that's their and my resposibility to their friends and squaddies. A squad is supposed to be a team and work like one. If you don't like the aircraft or mission, that's your personal deal, but I'm not going to let my squad down or put them in a bad position becouse of "I don't like it". I'll fly anyway. Maybe I hold my guys to a higher standard then most, but I have a feeling most squads that take FSO seriously are in my same boat. This is my personal thoughts on the matter, the higher powers can do what they feel needed from here.

It's not True!
The Claim Jumpers have not kidnapped the Joker Jokers and have them dressed in Sheep costumes! Kurt loves his sheep!

Hey Mr. Beck...it's time for a head to head again!

Contact with them was initiated immediately.

Absolutely correct; and it has officially been handled. The community also has a way of policing itself at times... sometimes that's good, sometimes that's bad.

Well let's keep this going.
#1 the frame one orders were posted on the Jokers BB like we have always done.
#2 no communication were received or given by the CM staff after the no show on frame one
#3 we have members in all three countries and we don't see them until the night of the FSO
#4 two members of our senior staff or recovering from recent surgeries
#5 on January 11 I went on to AH BB and stated we have not received any orders for frame two
#6 several Jokers were picked up as walk on's for frame 2 as walk on's
#7 for the no show frame one I would like to apologize for the Joker's

No let's don't. Your issues cannot be resolved by ranting in this thread. If you really need answers to both your questions about your squadron's status and your accusations that your squad was not contacted.. You need to take it up with Squire through a PM. He is the lead FSO CM and this is your best course of action.

when we as designers finish a setup, and finalize the side splits, we post on the FSO forum, with a link. in this link, is everything every squadron needs, with exception of objectives.
when objectives are sent out, they are sent to each sides respective email list. not just squad co's, but everyone whose email is listed. after this email is sent to each side, we then post again in the FSO forum that each sides objectives have been posted, along with reminders of who is each sides CiC for that frame. i honestly don't see how all members of any single squad could manage to not get at least some of these emails.

When I initially started this thread, it was to simply ask "Where were the Joker's." I was glad to hear that the CM staff reached out to them. I for one am satisfied with the answers that Cane1 gave. We all know that in the end this is a game (which we all love), but at times real life takes precedent.

Seems kinda funny for me that cane is the only joker to respond, dont the jokers CO and or XO have the good taste to explain why their squad(which has a commitment number to the FSO events) had absolutley NO-ONE show up...in uniform and execute their orders....and if they didnt recieve orders...they still had a commitment to FSO.they should have got in contact with the people in charge of FSO that day, they were playing online that day, they were playing online just before the event, they were even playing online DURING the event but in the MA.
I hope nobody takes offense to this and uses friendly fire on them as retaliation. we need to keep this civil, its just a game.i did think it was a game of honest people with integrity,i could be wrong.it would be nice to know the status of the jokers squad in the community and if this matter was taken care of...what was done?
