Yes I know this has been asked countless times before, but I still don't see it...so....here we go again.....

Please make tracer selection a customiseable & memorised for each plane/vehicle model (as gunsights are). Why not code it to check for a text file like it does for the sights?

I've always wondered why this was an all or nothing check box at the bottom of a nested window structure.

The worst "DouH!!" feeling in the game for me is occasionaly I'm on climbout just off the end of the runway and my wing falls off. As I'm tumbling down I catch a glimps of a wirbel in the trees and only the ends of the barrels are flashing with no tracer stream.

If it's possible I'm sure a large number of players would be very happy to have some of their rides checked for tracers and some not. I just wish our tracers were bright neon and gamey so I could realy see the path of the 37mm soft guns past 1.5k.

I know this.

Some players would like some of their aircraft to show tracers and some to not all at the same time to forgo visiting the checkbox between sorties of different natures. Along with the guns they man or the vehicals they sneek through the trees in.

I just wish the luminosity for the tracer pixel elements in game were much brighter for their flight duration. Or maybe a slider option to turn them up or down to nothing. I suspect not every monitor video card combination gives the same quality of tracer vibrance to the end user.

And this could be a famous Hitech moment of: be careful what you ask for, frame rate is very important in this game.

This is valid only for GVs and Bomber drones (which is something Ive never quite understood why it is so, either both should be able to see them or none, imho). In aircraft however, when I select tracers off, you can't see them either.

What I'm wishing for is a system where I can permanently set which aircraft I want tracers on and which ones I don't. Another alternative would be selecting which gun types you would like tracers on and which ones you wouldn't.

Yes, I'm forgetful and lazy, and only realise 'crap, forgot the damn tracers' after I'm engaged.

Something like the OP suggested, with tracer options setup like gun sights:

While we're on the subject, please make bomber drone guns and field guns invisible to the enemy if you have tracers off.  Seems that you can't see them but the enemy can.  :huh

If you fire main gun on bomber you get no tracers. If you fire full guns on bombers you get tracers.

Add to this, the ability to set how many tracers there are?  What I mean is something like; When you fresh up, your ammo will have few tracers, but as you start to run low, their frequency will increase until you are nearly out, at which point you will see a lot tracers.  I recall reading somewhere that in the 51(?), the last 2 or 3 seconds of ammo remaining had a lot of tracers to indicate to the pilot he's running low.  I know we have the ammo counter, but I myself don't check it often (if at all) if I'm tied up in a solid fight.

Either way, having the ability to just hit a check box to turn tracers on/off would be nice. :aok
