Here is the second installment of this series of basic commentary training films. Please ask any question I will answer as best I can. Also please anyone feel free to advise me or others about this film.

Very cool. I'm sure I'll be watching every one you make. I always wonder what someone is thinking in a fight.
I would like to see you fight some of the best pilots, ex Bruv, and then explain what caused him to win or you to lose, especially if you didn't know it was him to begin with... in other words when you randomly encounter him in the MA.
Getting or missing a shot is not as interesting to me though as what he does or you didn't do to allow him to get in position for the shot.
You up against 2 top pilots would also be very educational.
In the above film I have two thoughts...
(1) I like how you think "point my wing at him" to reduce your profile. I'll be saying that in my mind now too. I occasionally try to do that, but thinking those words will encourage me to do it more actively.
(2) I likely would have turned much tighter with the yak not letting go until i bring him down knowing the 190 would have a tough time keeping up with any turns and lose more E in the process. I see them taking many shots on you and you alternating between them. if one of those shots had landed (as Bruv's or Grizz's likely would have) you would not have been as lucky as it seems you were in avoiding the rounds. Again the question then is what did he do correctly to get in position for the shots and what did you not do correctly to prevent him getting his shot.
As you know, I have a selfish reason for wanting to understand that since my goal is to beat him and similar pilots at least 25% of the time. Maybe that's too advanced a topic for this series of films though. :headscratch:
Listening to you during your fights might teach me more than someone telling me they won due to better E management and/or angles or because I stink at fighting. It's the how, not the what, that's most useful.

I do actualy have some films of me dueling bruv that I plan to use at some point. You are also absolutely right about one of them being amazing ending my fight instantly. The fact is though that pilots like that are the exception, not the norm. You are far more likely to encounter two decent pilots than two expert ones.There is no training possible that can stop an exceptional player killing you every time they get a chance. Fighting two on one against two top pilots would be etremely difficult for anyone no matter what planes are invovled.

Another great film bat. I really like the commentary in terms of SA. I used to be able to think like that but after being gone I'm having to relearn it lol.
One quick question. What are the advantages of the G6 vs a G2 or K?...or is it just plane preference? Does it have specific strengths and weaknesses compared to those planes or is it very similar with the exception of the guns? I have kind of been focusing on the K simply because of the gun and it's ability to go nose high and hang in a slow fight. Similar it seems to me to the Ki-84 just more power and way less stable.
Not really talking about BNZ as a sidenote. The few times I have dueled squaddies they keep telling me I am messing up because I won't extend vs planes that are considered to be more "turny". I figure I'm not happy unless I can learn how to have a chance at winning from a disadvantage...and turn rate/radius is just a small part of it anyway.
edit: at least in terms of what the relative capability of each plane is. Relative speeds and angles make up for specific differences in planes many times.

Personaly I just love the G6. I have no idea why, it just seems to fit my hand well. The G2 is better in many ways on paper and the K4 is leagues ahead in all ways other than slow speed stabilty. I just love the G6 and I cannot explain why.

Fair enough...I was just curious about the plane. I never flew german planes much before and now im addicted to the 109 series for some strange reason.

Because they are the Porsche of AH! They are powerful, raw, lacking in any saftey features or automatic controls. When you do something right in them you know you did it all by yourself.

Batty, we've had some more than enjoyable fights in the past! I'd volunteer to guinea pig some fights with you, flying whatever needs to be flown and how it should be flown for film purposes. After a huge layoff I can't make it through a loop without stalling, so it'll be a great chance for me to knock some rust off :) .

Nice film Batty...wtg in your dispatch of the two foes.
Viewing in full screen/780 I found it somewhat hard to track the planes when under the horizon (against the ground). Is that a function of my vid card or your in game graphic settings?

I think I will have to change the icon colour for the films because I noticed this problem too. If anyone has any advice on how to make aircraft stand out against the grund better I'm all ears. I have the same problem in game while fighting.

Normally, I have my gamma set to 1.5x. It seems to get better or worse with certain maps.

Good video's to watch,if only you could have your speed in the corner of the video. (i think that would help newer players)
