Anyone have any knowledge / input re this company? I am building a cockpit and was originally going with a large screen plasma until I saw this.
http://www.simpit.co.nz/
Also note the warthog extension.

I am not 100 percent sure but this may have connections to a guy who's handle is "metalnwood". Check out simhq.com and similar sites for more I formation.

No this is not connected to metalnwod who was making a warthog extension but has stopped making them. I am more interested in the curved screen. It gives a 180 deg fov. Aces high would not use all of it in that it is limited to 145 deg. The price is not not that much more than a good 3 monitor setup?
-
I checked out the site. It seems like the price does not include the short throw DLPs that are required for the screen to work.

Add 2 cheap LED projectors and warping software and your home/gaming PC and you have the best gaming setup ever!
is what the page says. How much would a 'cheap' LED gaming projector be?
-
There is another that Gene over at SimHQ has done at home as well.

Reschke do you have a link? I did a search but all I could find is a Spanish company. Thanks
for your help.

The widest view that Aces High supports is 152 degrees. After using triple monitors for a couple of years I went back to a single monitor. With TrackIR a single monitor is sufficient and even though the triple monitor is cool flying through hangers and between trees I find that I don't miss it flying.

FLS curious as to why you went back to 1 monitor.

The triple monitor view is the middle third of a single monitor, it's just bigger. The side views move outside of your focused view and mostly adds immersion when flying past something. You need an extended up view more than you need extended side views so one monitor can be a more useful aspect ratio depending on your field of view setting. With TrackIR I really don't miss the extended side views. This assumes you have the monitors in landscape mode, in portrait mode it's the same as one large monitor. My monitors aren't IPS so they don't have sufficient view angle to look good in portrait mode.
The triple monitor aspect ratio in landscape mode is outstanding for driving sims because it's similar to a windshield aspect ratio and there is generally scenery to give you a sense of your speed.

Very well stated, FLS! That's the main thing that has prevented me from triple monitoring. You expressed my vague thoughts in clear English.
Already about 10 (ten) years ago Kanttori and I envisioned the future of gaming monitors. We fantasized about half- or even full-spherical screens, where you could just look around as in a real plane. Our debate went on about if it were better to have a hemisphere in front or above oneself. Ultra widescreen as in triple monitoring is one thing, but just as you said, in aviation games it lacks the vertical aspect. :salute
