Title: Squad Achievements
Post by: climber on January 10, 2013, 10:47:00 AM
Even though I'm not a fan of the whole achievement thing.  I feel OddCaf said it right but since HTC probably has already invested this much time and energy into this new aspect of the game I'm gonna throw my 2 pfennigs into the bowl and present an idea for the system.

One thing I really like about AH is the squad aspect.  Yep, I'm one of those folks who like to go in with an organized squad and take bases.  Why not have squad/mission achievements.  It seems like the current achievements are all based upon individual successes which takes away from the multi-player style.

Here are some basic ideas:
Achievement for joining 25 missions
Achievement for surviving 15 missions
Achievement for capturing maproom with mission
Escort award (not sure how to implement but hey I'm not a programmer :)  )
Multi-hangar drop award - for killing more than one hangar in a mission

These are all based upon missions.  I haven't thought of any that would pertain to squads yet but I'm sure folks could come up with some.

Any other ideas folks might have for this are welcome.

I like this idea. It would add another element and make it more group based, like you said.

I like the Idea of encouraging more to join missions. You may have 150 players on a side and only a few will join. Some will never get coaxed out of thier furball though.

You know what I forgot I'm talking from a Rook perspective and if you are Bish in the mega horde every day missions it doesn't make sense does it.  :headscratch:

You DO only man guns at friendly bases... not sure what else you'd want to see... how would you slaughter en masse without loads of enemy cons?

I have been killed by you Kuvo75 as I was flying by minding my own business.

My point is from a rook perspective our "horde" builds slowly and is unorganized with players showing up on thier own in a hap hazard attack. Bish Hordes just seem so organized coming in one wave to shut down the base, all hangers and guns. Of course then the town goes. But it's not a thrill with no opposition.

Giving an Achievment to encourage missions is ideal for those who wish to immerse themselves into the WW2 experience that is lacking in our MA today.
