Title: Can You Disable High Res Textures?
Post by: shiv on January 11, 2013, 03:35:54 PM
My joystick got all screwed up a few weeks ago, and I had to import an old settings folder to get all my views and stick mapping back.

The next time I logged in I got a pop-up saying that the high res texture pack was downloading and it could take several hours. This came and went for a few sessions until it said it was finished and it would be implemented the next time I started Aces High.

I don't really see a difference graphics-wise (I didn't make any chages in Graphic Detail, Advanced or in Video Settings) but I would like to turn it off or disable it if possible. (My gunnery has went to hell for the last few weeks and I'd like to eliminate this as the cause.)

Does anyone have any ideas? I would appreciate it.

Thanks.

To disable the high resolution texture package, simply change the "Maximum Texture Size" to 512, or less and it will disable it.  If the game is trying to update the package, the game will not run the high resolution textures (no matter what size you select) until that package is updated.

Update - More testing have indicated the gunnery issue isn't associated with the high res textures, problem with the pilot most definitely.
