Early war bomber variant of the Mossie
Could carry 2,000lbs of bombs

While I agree that the Mosquito Mk IV should be added, that photo is actually of a Mosquito Mk XVI, which we already have in the game.
You can tell it is a Mk XVI because it has six ejector stacks on each side of the engines and you can just barely see the bulged bomb bay. The Mk IV will have 5 ejector stacks on each side like the Mk VI or it will have flame dampers.

:neener: Close enough :neener:

The problem with the IV is that it will offer almost nothing to MA play, except being enabled in mid-war (that I rarely see more than 20 players in during my hours) and some scenarios. It will be a lower perk cost, lower performance bomber than the XVI, or in other words "hangar queen". I'd love to see it, but lets face it, it will not be popular even among the few that fly the XVI.
XVIII (the 57mm Molins gun) and XXX (high alt fighter) Mosquitoes have more to offer in the MA. Mossie NF.II may even be enabled in early war, but I can't think of many scenarios and events that will use it.

What is the explanation for the different number of exhaust stacks Karnak? How did it work did they initially go to a common collector, got any pictures?

bozon,
The Mk IV would actually be enabled in all the arenas, perked in the EWA, probably perked in the MWA and free in the LWA. I would expect it would be free in the LWA because while it is still pretty fast, its critical altitude is a lot lower, its top speed is lower, its bomb load is only four 500lbers or four 250lbers and it is still unarmed. In the LWA I don't think it would be excessively survivable.
nrshida,
On the Mosquitoes powered by a single stage, two speed Merlin there was only room for five ejector stacks while keeping the aft most stack far enough from the leading edge of the wing and the radiator. The fifth and sixth cylinders on each side shared an ejector stack, the exhaust from the rear most cylinder being routed forward to merge with the exhaust from the cylinder immediately in front of it. You can see that clearly on this photo of KA114:

On two stage, two speed Merlins the larger supercharger pushed the engines further forward which created enough space between the engine and the wing for each cylinder to have its own ejector stack. You can see this on the two Mosquitoes in AH, the Mk VI has five ejector stacks and the Mk XVI has six ejector stacks and the nacelles are longer with the propellers being further forward.

Thank you Karnak. :salute
