Title: IRAN Hangar
Post by: earl1937 on January 15, 2013, 12:26:36 PM
:airplane: We have serveral types of hangars in this game, fighter, bomber, stroch and etc, why not an IRAN hangar? (inspection, repair as neccessary). Taxi into hangar, wait 3 minutes or what ever time would be approiate, then taxi back for takeoff. We have re-arm pads, so why not repair hangars? We drop little boxes on the battlefield for tanks to be repaired to new condition, why not aircraft? We can drop a "box" of goodies on a field and repair guns, so why not aircraft repairs?
Just a thought guys, what you think?
We can repair radars and field guns and towns, so why not 3 boxs of field supp's on a CV to repair downed radar and guns?

Here's my two cents. Because it's ridiculous now that the GV guys get to be magically repaired
on the battlefield with "GV supplies". And that they get to magically "spawn" all over the map,
in some cases 50 miles or more in a half second.
If it was "sit your plane in an aircraft hanger for 8 hours" (real time), then I might buy into it.  :D

You have got to learn to use the search engine, or at least just look at what other posts are on the page.

:airplane: Fully aware of the posts, sir, what I am talking about is adding a hangar to the present hangars at airfields!

probably because hitech has mentioned several times that the only way he can do this is if ends the current sorty.  in other words it would be the same as if you end your sorty normally then up another airplane.

Large fields only maybe...  or Large airfields with a hangar big enough for most buffs and Medium airfield with one large enough for most fighters... maybe the VH can do vehicles (repair turrets/guns and restore all armor values to 100%), and then vehicle supplies would only de-flip, re-arm ammo and repair tracks/engines.

Too much thought/change on my part maybe.

So are you looking for a place to get your plane repaired, or another place to bomb when you come over with your bombers?

In reality if your plane needed repair your sortie would be over, that's probably the best argument for the way it is.

A crude idea (sorry guys if it's a bit weird.  Feeling like complete crap today):

When on the rearm pad, you could choose to keep bombs, rockets and/or DT's.  Example: I upped a jug with 2 1k's and the 500lb and the mission is good with the plane not messed up.  When I go to the rearm pad, the clipboard pops up and I'd select which ords I want to keep (decide to keep the 500lber, ditch the 1k's) then click "Rearm".  This would ONLY work with ords you originally upped with.  So if you took a "slick" jug, you would not be able to add ords/DT's to it on the rearm pad.  Another Example:  I decide to rearm again, only this time I can "add" ords.  The only ords I could "add" would be the 1k's since that is what I had originally upped with.  On this rearm, I decide to leave the 500lber and up with the 1k's and "Rearm".  Bam, I'm on my way.  As mentioned before, this will ONLY work if you originally upped with those ords/dt's.

Another thing is; If the ords have been taken out at the field you are rearming at, doesn't it make a little more sense that you can't reload bombs/rockets (or DT's/100% fuel if the fuel's been hit) at said field?  Personally I find it weird that I could fully rearm my plane with bombs at a field who's ords been knocked out, while guys upping from that field can't take bombs. :headscratch:

I agree, but should also apply from a GV standpoint.

I wholey accept and support that arguement.... *cough* until the next time I strafe a wirblewind, and witness it get 6 new turret instalations, in the field, in less than 3-minutes. *cough*

Pand & Babalon, yes I see those points too. Don't know what to do about it.  Maybe make the crates larger in size so we could shoot them instead of the vehicle first?   :headscratch:

I have a feeling many folks would feel obliged to bomb the IRAN hangar, almost as a reflex action.
