I wouldn't want to live in those buildings in the background.

Nice shooting, but the buildings behind the range don't seem to be a nice background for a shooting range.

Skeet/trap/target shotgun type loads will be running out of steam at that tree line. This was at Elm Fork, a big shooting range right in the middle of DFW that has been there for years. Plus they are actually farther away than they appear.

There's a proud Father. know how you feel. Two sons right now. One day I'll be making sure they are not scared of guns and respect them.  :salute

1100 or 1187?

Clay pigeons are shot with a small shot size, usually between 7.5 - 9 size shot.  These are quite small and have a limited range.  At 40 yards max, they don't have much energy.  Those buildings are way out of range.

LOL!   :lol   Shotguns have an absolute maximum range of 100 yards when fired at a 45° angle with heavy shot from a long barrel.  They may be able to reach out to 150 yards with buckshot, but it would be a stretch.

You bananas can relax now.   ;)

Untill someone has the bright idea to fire slugs instead of shot.

Brother in law took his nine year clay shooting with his little gun, and I watched as he told him that its hard to hit clays with a small gun.

Nephew shouted pull and he hit the clay, fantastic :)

Getting old is easily highlighted by such events :)

That was a sporting clay course called the dove course. It just a six station course but they have two big ones called meadows and woods with golf carts etc. We shot a little over two boxes each on the dove course using different sequences and such. Meadows and woods are fun but required more time than we had yesterday.

Those are still out of smooth bore slug range. Thankfully though nobody that shoots there have obviously been that stupid.

Nice shooting! Shooting sporting clays is the most fun you can have with a gun in my opinion. My buddy talked me into going to the indoor shooting range to shoot our handguns and I was bored to death. I have been spoiled by sporting clays. I'll be killing clays this coming up weekend  I can't wait  :rock
