Title: Recognition of Mission Leaders.
Post by: 999000 on January 28, 2013, 11:28:17 AM
The game is good, but becomes a great amount of fun when Mission Leaders put up, organize, and lead mission strikes! Being a Mission leader is not easy......and adds a lot of fun for the rest of us...I thought it would be good to give a shout out to these people who add alot to the game we all enjoy!   To Start I''ll recognize my own squad mate "Cody" who is our leader <S>

Mission leaders have somewhat become a lost art as of recent.  Don't get me wrong, some are still good leaders but some mission leaders have moved on from the game or changed their game play away from missions.

here here <S> 999... ET37 is our guy for the rooks.  i join his missions at least 3 times a week. its an honor everytime too. ive said it before about ET, he uses real verbiage that they used in ww2 and korea, bc he was a bomber pilot in Korea. it makes you feel like its real in a way. im sure there are guys like me, who have a part of them that wishes we were alive and flying in ww2. you watch the old documentaries, and get jacked up to come online and basically, like a grown kid, pretend that you are a real flyer in ww2. you try to do the tactics they did bc its as close as we will get to that sort of grandeur. for me, the mission runners are some of the only ways to use tactics they wouldve used in real ww2 and it gives me a chance to pretend its real and get an inkling of how it mustve felt to be a real ww2 flyer. i also think the missions plant a seed of interest in wartime aviation. some folks may do a mission and then wonder if thats how they were done in ww2. they go and read stories or actual mission statements or something to find out. and all the sudden they know at least one thing more than they did. im a big fan of the mission leaders.

Missions sometimes work out well, or get totally shot down.. I've had them go both ways. What's important is to have fun with it however it goes.

999000 There are some that come to mind for me,

FBBob.. The only guy I know that can find an enemy CV when he post a mission that goes over water.

Jayro.. nits.. meet a23 NW runway ... is all he says and he gets a turnout like you wont believe..

Waystin2... can successfully lead 21 people into the side of a mountain and giggle like a giddy schoolgirl while doing it..

Is why this guy stays atleast a half sector away from FBBob on missions. He is also famous for going afk with no mountain insight and smacking into one 6/10 times.  :devil

Being a mission leader is a lot easier than playing the game well.

That depends on the mission!

That depends on the mission!

The execution of orders is trickier than giving them when you're the one giving the orders.  I think your idea of a good mission involves good staff officers as well.

...or just having people willing and capable to follow the orders.

ET has already been mentioned, but OddCAF runs some fun missions, A8Prowlr is a champion at putting together combined arms assaults, and Tazz69 is too much of a puss to LEAD them, but his strategies always get put into play and they are very good indeed (for a Canadian).

Tried to lead our squad, included waypoints altitudes, described the stream beside the town we where flying to.

Over TeamSpeak an English pilot (Deckard8) declared "Welcome to sunny Stalingrad"  :rofl

I remember a while back (About 2 years ago) 321BAR led a mission of Il-2's and I-16's mixed with St00kaz and goons to take a base.

Funny thing is that it was actually successful. Anyone even know where that guy went?
