What you guys think of this game? Looks interesting to me, heavy focus on a realistic flight model and they are developing a FW190 as we speak aswell. Cannot compete with AH, since the arenas only can hold 32 players and its just a P51D at the moment. But toejam having an AH with those graphics would be nice.

DUXFORD, UK, September 17th, 2012 – The Fighter Collection and Eagle Dynamics have released DCS: P-51D Mustang as a digital download for $39.99. Pre-purchase also provides access to pre-release Beta versions of the title.
The Mustang was among the best and most well-known fighters of World War II. Possessing excellent range and manoeuvrability, the P-51 operated primarily as a long-range escort fighter and ground attack fighter-bomber with bombs, rockets, and machine guns. The Mustang served in nearly every combat zone during WWII and proved to be what many consider the most successful fighter in history.
The DCS: P-51D Mustang offers both highly-detailed simulation and easy-to-play "game" mode options for both hardcore and casual gamers. When in simulation mode, this is the most authentic simulation of the P-51D Mustang that has ever been created for the PC. Enjoy both the thrill of flying this legendary warbird and operating its various weapons against a variety of ground and airborne targets.
An interactive training system puts you in the cockpit with an instructor that gives you step-by-step training instruction to fly the Mustang.
A powerful yet easy-to-use mission editor allows you to create your own missions and campaigns. A one-click Mission Generator also allows you to instantly create battles as small or large as you wish.
Fly online with built-in server browser that supports up to 32 players in both head-to-head and cooperative gameplay. Fly online with other DCS aircraft like the Black Shark and the A-10C Warthog.
I think im going to get this one, and combine it with my AH stick time. If anyone else is playing it or planning to then it would be fun to mix it up sometime.

I'll wait for a Corsair.

DCS A10 was the biggest waste of money I spent on a game (can you even call it a game). No one to blame but me though. :(

What's wrong with it?
-
Nothing. It does what it was advertise. A hardcore flight sim. I was just stupid and bought it without looking at reviews or play a demo first. I'm one of those who would rather spend their 15 minutes blowing something up than press buttons to take offs.

Couldn't you return it/swap it for a different game?

You can't return a PC game to a store because of the CD key. Not sure how you would return a digital download either.
-
That sux.

Yea, bought it off Steam unfortunately.

You geniuses know you can download DCS world and it is free. And oh by the way it comes with a free plane so if you don't like it who gives a toejam
-
Pretty sure I've already established that it was a mistake.
But whatever makes your day. :headscratch:

The modeling on the Su-25 isn't nearly as good as the A-10 or P-51 and doesn't really give a good preview of the game.
-
That made my sticker peck out! :O
-
They just released new open beta and added a TF-51D for free. Enjoy.
-
They do run a kickstarter fundraiser for a 1944 map and planeset. :old:
If that is modelled as The A10C ( and any other plane / chopper / tank and so on ) and online world together with being able To host more players simultaneously it might become what A lot of people look for. Full Sim FM, lot of eyecandy.....
Regarding The difficulties, use a Warthog joystick, maps itself To The A10C. Makers The plane a lot easier to fly :devil ... And that 30 mm cannon..... :rock :rock :rock :O
:joystick: :joystick: :joystick:

We are not angry just dissapointed :rofl
I am going to download free version :)

The graphics in that video posted by the OP are beautiful. I am going to try the free version.
-
I enjoyed seing a nose droping down properly :pray
-
Looks like titanic3 sank.

Funny I think that DCS A10C is great and it really gives me some enjoyment in flight sims as are most of the others; some of the 3rd party developed aircraft are just OK but they are 3rd party builds.
-
I have a10c and the P51. A10 is more fun with all the weapons, 51 is more fun because i can fly it and not have to deal with computers and such. Plus i can remember how to cold start the 51 without 2 sheets of checklists

I downloaded the DCS World (free version) off of Steam last week. I liked it so much I bought the Flaming Cliffs 3 add-on to it. Been cruising around in the F15 and SU27 in single player mode the last several days, learning the electronics and targeting systems that go with it. Flying the planes is the easy part... learning the electronics and symbology is a beast on its own. It is definitely a lot to take in. The graphics are amazing too.
-
Like it, had A10 for 3 months and still can't get it off the ground :x. Problem with OP is he wants easy mode......XBOX alive and well :O
-
What concerns me is the whole thing running out of steam and disappearing before it realises it's potential :old:
-
If they ever do an aircraft I am interested in I'll look at it. Until then it is just too limited for what I want.
Pretty P-51 though.
-
I bought the UH-1 and must say it is quite realistic to me. It's a tad more difficult to hover than the real thing but it's very close.
-
Plazus, if you think FC3 is complex, wait until you give A10C a whirl. It's a whole new level, probably the most involved combat flight simulation yet made. The BRS Falcon mods can maybe give it a run for its money, but that's primarily due to the sensors and such in the Falcon sim. The are all very impressive accomplishments IMO.

Kind of the same way. Let me know when they get to the F4U series.
