whoa...awesome stuff. That pulls the old heart strings.

Truthfully you guys mostly like it because she is a babe. If that was an ugly girl, hardly anyone would pay attention. Sad but true. And yes, it is an old video that's been posted before.

...And the old saying goes "If you don't have anything nice to say"...
Did your post somehow help to educate us? elevate your status? What are you working towards with that? Why not just watch and appreciate it for what it is

Amazing what they can do :old:

Pretty cool.
It would be interesting to see what music she gravitates to.

Oh, excuse me, this has become the gathering point for the worlds intellectual elite now?
I am pointing out the obvious with a observations towards the motivations of certain people and how physical appearance alone can alter behavior, actions and attitudes. To basically weigh in on this as "so special and touching" when that is only done because of a young ladies physical appearance illustrates that effect.
Sorry you don't understand that.
And, it gets old seeing the same thing on this board multiple time. Aren't we about due for someone else to post the Courtesy Aircraft website like it is their amazing discovery, again?

Had not seen it before. Peace be with you.

That's really cool.

I wonder how long it will take her to get used to it (being able to hear) and how much it will drive her crazy, at first.
I remember when my grandfather got his hearing aid. He heard sounds that he had not heard for 30+ years (clock ticking, kids laughing, dogs barking in the neighborhood)
He said that it sounded like noise and distortion, at first, and was a whole lot of input to process.
I guess it is only a matter of time until they put these in the ears of special forces types so inbound comms are silent...

My son had Cochlear implants put in when he turned one as he was born deaf. They don't work with everyone and with Matthew they have not.
Something bothers me about these videos based on all we've learned about the CI. It provides a limited amount of "sound' input. This gal was born deaf, yet she breaks into normal conversation and understands everything the second the CI is turned on. For all the tweaking and adjusting they do trying to get the input just right, her reaction seems unreal.
The Docs are also very clear that there is a very limited window for those born deaf to have implants put in and have a chance to succeed. They want my son to keep trying for a couple more years. If nothing changes, the window will have closed. A person who lost thier hearing after having it is a different story.
Also note that someone born deaf who learns to verbalize, doesn't sound like a hearing person as they don't hear what they are saying. You'd never know she had been deaf her whole life based on her jumping into normal conversation with a normal voice the second the implant went on.
At best, she had part of her life early on hearing and speaking then lost her hearing. Now with the implants she got some hearing back. I don't believe she was deaf her entire life.
While the implants can help. They aren't to the point where it means they hear just the same as a hearing person.

Thanks for the info.

A Curval, a personal attack. I see you haven't changed and have nothing to offer.

Dude, you claim mine and everyone else's interest in this is purely due to the fact that this is an atractive female...not everyone is as shallow as you.

She ruined her looks with that pigment arm. :old:
I think some Tattoos can be good looking on a girl but I don't get the whole sleeve thing.
IMHO. (http://i266.photobucket.com/albums/ii269/theogrit/1sm297Firehose.gif)

2 of my nieces have these. They are fantastic!
Neither of them will ever have to bother with sign language. I expect that they will be able to enjoy music later on when they add fidelity to future models.
The oldest niece likes to take hers off when my sister is yelling at her.
