We lost another hero this week. I had the privilege and honor of flying with Capt Luc Gruenther at Sheppard AFB. He was an outstanding pilot, officer, and friend.

His first child is due to be born in 2-3 weeks.
Here's a toast...

<S> Capt Luc Gruenther.
I am sorry to hear of his loss and that his child will never know him, Eagl.

One of the bros told me that his death was announced during a red flag debrief and that an education fund was being set up for his unborn child. The ENTIRE room of maybe 100 pilots emptied their wallets, including a Dutch 3-star general.

I cringe at the word 'hero' but I surely send my sympathy for your personal loss, and our nation for losing a protector :salute

Nothing yet and it will be a couple of months before the accident board results are released. It was a night over-water training mission, there is evidence that he at least attempted ejection, it took 3 days to find him, and it is very cold there. That's pretty much it.
