Title: Do you guys like the Strike Fighters/Wings over Vietnam/Europe games?
Post by: Weirdguy on February 05, 2013, 05:53:14 AM
I play jet flight sims for fun as much as I like WW-2 planes. The one I really like are the ones from Third Wire productions.  They're not too hard, but they are also not super easy as well.

mostly because they have enough detail in them to give a feeling for a jet flight simulator, but at the same time they don't have every MFD page in the computer with 5 sub-modes per page like some of the very specific airplane games like Lock-On Modern Air Combat.

I just wish they had a mission editor so I could setup some specific scenarios myself easily.

They also feel like they're milking the series for all it's worth.  The succession of games are actually just stand alone expansion packs sold as if it was a new game.  You are still just playing the original Strike Fighters game that just has a different map and new planes.

Still, I like them and it actually makes me wish that HiTech and Pyro would do their own jet fighter game someday.

Yes. Very fun games.

They have a mission editor, but its difficult to use. I used to just copy missions and edit them in notepad.
