.....Always point to the right or left. If I get jumped I can't hit anything!!!

I'm assuming you mean the gun turrets on bombers; if so your answer is: as you occupy a gunner position, the game tries to make every movable gun move towards the area you are pointing at in order to assist the gunner in bringing as many guns to bear on a target as fast as possible. Example: if you are in the tail gun of a B17, the nose gun will try to move to point backwards, this normally results in the nose gun pointing hard over to one side or the other. Of course this can be frustrating if you have to quickly jump from tail to nose position. If you return to a non-gunner position for a few seconds, all the guns move back to thier default position.

Bomber turrets? They are allways pointing at their default (for example straight rear & level for aft or top turrets) if you jump to them from the cockpit (pilot seat). If you jump to a gunner position from another position, it will be pointed as much as possible toward the direction your last station was pointed.

They never point were I need them they.......But they always point in the same direction though

Cycle through the pilot position, at least then the gun will be centered

This is the point of being jumped. If you didn't have the SA to notice the enemy from far out and closing the distance in on you to jump in the guns and bring them to bear on them - you got jumped.

When you jump into a position that had no bead on the target from the last position and station you were at (say left waist to right waist) then it is at its default position. Try jumping instead from the right waist, to the ball/top/nose/tail, and then after they pass from there to the left waist - you'll have better results.

I would rather it would be in its default position.....

You must 'be' the turret...

Luche just explained how it works. Can you not now use that to your advantage now?

The main problem is the jump from tail to nose. I doubt the nose gunner would be swung full port or starboard when an enemy is at the 6 of a B17. But it doesnt take too much to retrack the target. Just a PITA.
