Title: Requesting training assistance
Post by: jeffdn on February 10, 2013, 01:52:05 AM
Hello all,

I've been playing for about four months now, and have worked up to the point where I have about a 1:1 kill ratio. I'd like to improve, and learn some more advanced techniques, as I feel I've hit a wall. Does anyone have time this coming week to spend an hour or two with me in the TA? It would be much appreciated!

jeff

Awesome, I'm east coast as well so that works perfectly. See you at 9:00pm on Monday. Just so you're aware, the fighter I chose to "get good at" first was the Spit XVI, for its balance of good characteristics. I'm familiar with basic ACM, such as split-s, Immelmann, yoyo, etc. Interested in top turns, gaining advantage when being pursued, etc. Thanks!

I found badboy's thread with the rolling scissors gif, would love to learn more about that too. I've definitely recognized people trying to start those with me, and me wondering for a quick second "huh, I wonder..." Usually followed by me going kablooey.  :lol

 Jeff,

I try to teach the KISS system, keep it simple,silly... It's good that you are familiar with BFM and some ACM that will speed things up as I wont have to explain what all the terms mean. Simply knowing what the terms mean helps any trainer to be more efficient because the dont have to waist valuable time explaining what something means!

I hope you understand what the lift vector is,if not look it up,I'll be using that term often!

Monday should be good, hope to see you then.

You may want to wing up and take advantage of team work.  We fly as Knights (12 years) and we fly the P38 in both the attack and fighter mode.  We fly on Saturday evening at 7:00PM EST.   Vox 113, 113th Lucky Strikes.  You may fly what you like and wing up for the additional protection.  You can wing up for a flight or a night.  Good luck and welcome to the game.

I'm in a squad on the Bish side, but your offer is much appreciated and duly noted.  :salute

I hope that helped the other night.

Next time we can go over some merge tactics and some energy management.

I forgot to mention the other night about Morf's ABC's of combat, that happens when you're pressed for time which I'm sorry about,Always Be Climbing!!!

It was extremely helpful, been performing your low-energy-cost turns and reversals all over the place, and the kills keep coming, my deaths keep dropping, and my accuracy keeps climbing. Would love to have your next available time if possible. Hope all is well with you!

Hi Morfiend,

Are you planning to be in the TA some evening this week?  I would appreciate spending some training time with you.  I've been playing AH for about 2 months now, have read a lot and watched training videos but could still use plenty of help getting my act together in fighters.  Willing to pick one and stick with it if you have a favorite.  I've had limited success in the 51D (BnZ) and the N1K2 (TnB) but still feel like dog food out there when I get an experienced pilot after me  :)

My Game ID is: Badger

Thanks!
