Title: Horse food
Post by: zack1234 on February 11, 2013, 02:44:26 AM
Apparently meat products in Europe have shown to have 100% horsemeat in them.

I laughed until it stated that horse meat contains steroids not meant for human consumption :cry

Will said steroids have a impact in game?

I'm reporting you to Skuzzy Zack for playing Aces High whilst using performance enhancing drugs. If Lance Armstrong can't get away with it neither should you  :old:

So far it's limited to UK products afaik. The other countries have different recipes for the same meal. Horse meat is actually very tasty and I love salami made out of it.

Actually it was originally discovered here in Ireland. We have a very strict food standards regulations.  We don't like to eat horses, just bet on them. The burgers made from the meat was exported to the UK but the original source apparently was Poland where they farm horses for food.

But then they found lasagne made with 100% horsemeat which originated in Romania. The lasagne was made in France. So it's all the fault of the French!  :rofl

At this stage 16 countries are affected and it's become a criminal investigation.

I definitely think there's been foal play. I had some burgers recently and was galloping to the stall all night with the trots. But I'm stable now. I think this calls for a stewards enquiry. Time to rein in these criminals. Soon they'll be saddled with a record. :t

I personally have nothing against eating horsemeat. Also reindeer is very tasty. That too raised a huge scandal in UK before christmas.. They're feeding us Rudolf! LOL!

In South Florida, they've had an ongoing problem for years with people's horses being stolen and slaughtered for their meat.

Poland was in Soviet Union so your info is a couple decades stale at this time... It's been a sovereign nation along with other ex warsaw pact countries since the fall of SU.

Salted horse meat sausage. My favorite picnic-food when I was a kid. Nothing wrong with eating horse meat... Selling horse meat in a beef product however is fraud.

I had friends visiting me last week (ok, actually friends of my wife, as everybody knows I don't have any)
They informed me "We don't eat meat anymore.". I wondered what those kind of people are eating instead, so I googled a bit and found out there's a thing called "vegetable". I went to my local butcher and asked him if he could procure some of this stuff for me.

He kicked me out of his shop...  :uhoh

Here in the US a lot of fast food chains take a different approach.  They use about 15% meat from animals, 80% filler and 5% flavoring developed by Union Carbide.

Then it's served in a feed bag so the customer can eat just like a horse.

I'd probably try horse meat if I was visiting a culture that ate it, not sure why there is so much anxiety about it.

Anyone ever tried dog before?  If I ever go to China I'll go out of my way to try it.  I've got a dog too, boxer, not going to eat him though.

You swine or should I say you mare! I won't rise to the insult.  :P Largely because I use similar tactics on Irish uber patriots on domestic websites. Damm it I hate it when Americans refuse to conform to our stereotypes.  :aok

Suffice to say we are sufficiently independant to have very strict food regulations and boy what a can of worms we opened. It seems nearly everyone in Europe had eaten horse meat at this point without knowing it. It has to be said I rarely buy processed packaged meat. Most of the stuff I buy actually has the name and the address of the farmer who grew it on the label.

The whole thing is beginning to look like a massive con job. The Romanian horse meat was labelled as horse meat and exported  as such where they changed it to beef. Somebody made a lot of money out of it.

Just goes to show how a scandal affects priced. This week Findus lasagne is 2 for 1 at Iceland.
Last week it was 5 to 1 at Newmarket
