On a serious note, consume large amounts of honey.
Honey has a natural antibacterial element. The natural sugar will give you energy. Has zero side effects and brings about healing quicker. It is not the end all for the flu and other ailments but it will help.

Take a glass of hot water. Add plenty of rum (Stroh 160 proof recommended) and a dash of sugar or honey.
Consume a few glasses of it.
It may not cure you but it will make being sick a lot more fun! :lol

Just relax and take MrRipley's advice of having fun with it. As you probably know, a flu will go away in only two weeks without you having to do anything. But if you start nursing and medicating, it'll torture you for no less than fourteen days. :old:

the OBVIOUS solution is to combine all the above; drink bourbon, strategically pour honey on wife, consume, enjoy, get WELL.

Manuka or any unpasteurized honey are better ; mixed with raw bee pollen; take a teaspoon 5-6 times/day.

Ya know, I think it's a conspiracy, I haven't had a flu shot ever, and the last time I got sick was December 2011.... :noid :bolt:

Daddkev, I'm sorry to hear that you and your family got the flu. It is miserable, and I hope you folks recover soon.
For folks debating on flu shots, they are good to get in my opinion. They'll reduce the odds of getting it but not eliminate the chances altogether. Given that they are very easy to get these days and free or very cheap (and given how miserable it is to get the flu), I think it's worthwhile for the whole family to get them to reduce the odds of getting the flu.
