It is with a deeply Saddened heart that I announce the passing of another of our own.
Captain Kenny Dell has gone on to Bluer skies earlier this week after a long battle with health issues over the past couple of years.
Captain Dell is decorated combat veteran of the United States Army, Seventh Cavalry Regiment (retired). He is also one of the founding members of the Claim Jumpers and has been playing for many, many years. He will be sorely missed...
The Claim Jumpers are planning a memorial flight in his honor on 3 March 2013 at 1800 CST, and would be honored if you joined us in honoring CptDell. Please contact Flifast, UnclKurt, or myself (ingame id, StraBult) for details in the MA. Rook VOX Channel 114.

didnt know Cptdell very well, only was around him a few times. my squaddie cat409 and dell seemed to laugh and giggle and fart around a lot though. they were the same age or about. somewhere around 7 months ago or so Cptdell was in the hospital. well, there was concern that he may not comeback because he was pretty bad off. about a week later, cat409 sees him on and sure enough they are at it again, laughin and cuttin up. because Cptdell had driven an m3 for at least a hundred years to get to a base. cat and dell just as giddy as school girls. cat tells me,lets go knock that town down. and we decide that lets make his day and get that dam base. and thats what we did. uppers following me and cat away and dell in town lettin troops run. a min later that base is rook property. dell and cat both even more giddy now and to hear their voices so happy was a big thrill. it made my day. next thing i know is dell and cat are on that base in wirbels shootin guys outa the sky left and right. and cutting up, laughing, having a dam good time. it was one of the coolest days i ever had in this game, bc of how genuinely happy those two were. they were like kids again.

It was always a blast to fly with dell on his 1-2 hour bomber runs, had the privilege many times to tag along as a gunner or even as a second bombefartr formation. I learned everything about bombing from that old fart, I will truly miss that guy. FYI for anyone still following this unclkurt will need all of us to be there for him... if anything I believe he and dell were like brothers wether it was them walking the woods hunting together it kentucky or all of us hanging out together at the get together at kurts place. We all loved you dell and still do, you're in a better place now. <<S>> :frown:

Dell was an awesome tactician and strategist.
He delighted in the fact that even the most basic strategy and tactics invented 2000 years ago work better than ever in today's war arenas........which allowed many of his missions to succeed.
I will miss his contributions to the "claimjumpers radio show" on voice channel.

He was a character wasn't he.......with one of the most distinguishable voices in AH having good sense of humor and gameplay. I'm sure he had more friends on the outside than in this game...and that says a lot.

I myself was sent home early today because I couldn't hold myself together and do my job. I chose not to argue, and now I'm having a bite to eat and then I'm going to go have a few beers in Dell's honor. :frown:
It warms my heart, and brings tears to my eyes to see that in a community like this where everyone has their differences and their opinions that make us squabble with each other we can all come together with the passing of a fallen friend. Even though some of people never really knew Dell, I hope to see them in the memorial flight.
I'm proud to have flown by CPTDell as a Claim Jumper until the end. :salute
His family will be receiving a card in the mail from me in a few days, and to Dell I say:
May your future be filled with clear skies, and may you be as remembered in death as much as you were loved in life.

On behalf of G3-MF, we send our condolences and wish God Speed and Smooth Sailing.
His family will be in our prayers.
To the Claim Jumpers,
We are very sorry for your loss. CptDell will certainly be missed. My favorite memory in game with him was a base we were trying to take for a couple of hours. The only way in was with goons. The goons just kept getting shot down and the town and base kept popping. The fight seemed to rage on for about 2 hours. Just about when everyone was about to give up and move on, I am diving in on a couple enemy planes to see a friggin M3... ...I am starting to bark out on local channel, get the guns back down!!! Dell is almost in town with troops!!!!!
Needless to say, we took the base and ran off the rest of the bad monkeys. CptDell had great vision in the game and certainly understood tactics and deception in getting the job done and making the base "green".
Go with God. One day, we will all be there and hopefully, enjoying some version of this game in the afterlife where we can all play together again! You will be missed.

"Fly With Me"
As I wake, I see my life,
A fire burning,
deep inside.
All I want,
and long to be...
Close my eyes,
return to dreams.
Windswept clouds,
completely free,
The entire sky belongs to me.
Very few depart the ground,
yet in the air is courage found.
Fly now sir,
you aren't alone,
for in these skies,
I've found my home.
Blessed are we,
who dare to fly.
We've found ourselves amongst the skies.
Soaring bird,
your heart is free,
Come spread your wings,
and fly with me.

I remember he wanted a base that had no vehicle spawns into it and a river midway between it and the nearest friendly field.
CptDell simply upped a LTV, said "I'll get back to you guys in an hour when I am in position", and rumbled toward the river.
An hour later, he comes back on and the claim jumpers hit the town hard, furballed a bit, and drew the enemy back away from town which allowed Dell to take the town.

That was one of his specialties. I personally don't know of ANYONE who would regularly do this. CPTDell had no problems doing this and I'm sure got a "WTF!?" reaction from folks on the other side. :D
