Well, I hope the CiC's have time to get orders out by Wednesday. I know I couldn't do it in 2 days.

i fail to see why you felt compelled to comment as such in here. you apparently are not CiC, thus your comment was unnecessary, derogatory, and inflammatory.

Well inflammatory or not it is a legitimate point.

Well inflammatory or not it is a legitimate point.
When I make orders, the most time consuming part is reviewing multiple times and making small changes to try to accommodate everybody the best I can, and this rarely takes more than a day. It take roughly 45 minutes to hack out a basic framework for the orders. This is all under the assumption that I actually have the free time to sit down and do it all at once.

Im sorry, maybe I put too much time into doing orders. I suppose Ill just whip them out putting no thought at all into them next time. Sorry I was derogatory and inflammatory. I was commenting on them being late. If I was CiC I would not have been very happy. Seeing as how I am not, it doesnt concern me. Thus I will move on.

I have faith in the commanders of the squads for these events. I think everyone should, some of these squads have been doing FSO for years. Being a CiC is a privilege not a punishment. If you think it is a punishment find someone in your squad that might see it in a different light. I also have seen orders made and sent out in less time, and there are plenty that would be willing to help.
I have Faith that Trainee and Dougall.

Here is the strat map for Frame 1. All bases East of the green line showing the Front are Allied (Soviet VVS) and all bases West of the Front are Axis (German Luftwaffe). The bases South of the Black Sea are not used.
Remember that this map scale is 1:2, that is, one Aces High mile represents two Real World miles. For example, the "as the crow flies" distance from Kharkov (10-14-5) to Sevastopol (7-6-5) is actually right around 400 miles, but on this AH map it shows as about eight 25-mile sectors, or 200 miles.

Here are the objectives, in both DOCX and PDF formats...

having been cic several times, i fault no one for them coming out late. while its nice to get them by Wednesday, it is a difficult task at best. Since we don't do it on a regular basis, when its your turn, you have alot to remember from 3 or 4 months ago or even longer sometimes.
then there is the whole fairness issue. frame 1 cic has it easiest. he can just assign stuff based on requests, or not, and put them out. frame 2 and frame 3 cic's have a fairness issue to deal with. trying to spread the wealth is a very difficult job. some groups are best is certain aircraft, some are not. i try never to give the same squad the same planes so that everyone has a fair shot at something different. i do make exceptions to that rule, but nothing i would admit publicly.
the point im trying to make is that its not a fun job, it can be difficult to setup and sometimes finding the time to get it down and ready by wednesday's is a chore in itself. while i salute those that can get it done by Wednesday, i don't fault those who cant.
and don't forget, the orders have to go through the CM's before they can go out, so sometimes thats a problem too.
<S> to all CIC's no matter who you are!!

ya know what? the part of your post i left up there makes a decent point. i wonder if it would be a feasable suggestion for CiC's to make notes, and possibly form a sticky in the top of the fso thread? kind of like a continuity book? that all CiC's could reference for advice/info?
just a thought.
