My company is having a regional meeting at the The Crade of Aviation Museum in LI NY next week (GardenCity), Anyone ever been to this museum? Anything i should check out?
I had to laugh when my boss called me to tell me the location.....He is well aware of my interest in anything aviation oriented. He threatened to have me outfitted with a Lojack device, and surround me with an invisible fence, and a shock coller, to make sure i sit thru the meetings. I told him i would much rather sit thru Insurance meetings, then browse an aviation museum that ive never been to..(i dont think he bought it)..... :D
If anyone has ever been, let me know what its all about
Thanks

Very good museum. Nothing terribly exotic in their collection

I live about 10 miles from the museum and I have been there numerous times. It's no Smithsonian but it's not bad for a local museum. Sorry but no P38's although they do have a jug and an F6F. Plenty of other aircraft to see as well as a Lunar Lander. My grandsons really enjoy going there. Enjoy.

I just attended the annual Air and Space Gala at the Museum on Wednesday evening. $500 a plate ($5k per table of 10, business write-off). We buy a table every year. Spent some time talking with Apollo 17 astronaut and former NM Senator, Harrison Schmitt. Great band, spectacular food and drink. Unrestricted run of the Museum. Great evening.... Our table was up front, under the F11F Tiger, next to a table full of Air Force brass...

They're good but I think they're (as a museum) still relatively new-ish.
