Title: spawnable battleships

that require a set amount of players to remain active.. Manned 88, no puffy please... From bases close to water.. Not limited to ports..

We have a decent number of aircraft that laid mines already in the game, B-24J, Boston Mk III, Ju88A-4, He111H, Mosquito, I think.  Mines would just need a timer for how long they lasted.

Such control is not possible. HTC himself said this during one con which was recorded and put up as a podcast by one participant. It's just not a ship or a playable thing. It's a base that moves. It's a ground object. Something like that.

We were chatting about that this am--one thing the catapult-launched plane could do---give it a radar circle as long as it remains airborne

Sure.. I like that idea too.. Some beach guns too..
The prob isn't that big ships are too close.. Just the wrong kind, (CV)

Two fleets from each port, CV attack fleet, and an Invasion fleet..

That way the CV could stay offshore and give pilots a chance to
get Alt before entering the fight..

More fleets for Cartoon Admirals too.. It would fix MANY issues
of goofy gameplay..

I think it would be a HUGE + to the game..

as long as it doesn't end with 50 bishops battleships parked just outside my field I'm ok with it  :)

How long they lasted? The real question is how many of them are still out there?

But, I'm against the whole mine thing anyway, because I believe it would just be another thing to game. I can already think of one very good way to game it and it's not even in the game!

I agree! except for PT boats dropping troops.

Oh, easy.

  Switch sides . . . place a minefield . . . tell squadies where it is and how long it will last.

  Grab control of fleet . . . . move into said minefield . . . .

  Rinse and repeat as needed.

+1 on Amphib Assault/surface action fleet, with 1xBB, 2xCA, 4xDD (actual destroyer, not DE); need the BB to have scout plane, LVTs (and CVBG would not have any LVTs), and PTs.

+1 on player spawn-able DEs or DDs, to include torps; big perk requirement, though.

-1 PTs to land troops.  While PTs did in fact occasionally land special forces, they were not used in mass ground assaults, which is what our LVTs, half-tracks, and Goonybirds are for.

+10 for LST (perhaps spawn-able from above mentioned amphib assault fleet) to act as temporary mobile VH. It would have to have some serious restrictions, such as only one at a time active from a fleet, and perhaps require someone to remain "on the bridge" for it to remain active.
