Inspired by boo's analysis of those dreaded 190A5 drivers ( :neener:), I took the opportunity to quickly compile a who's who of P-38G drivers from last tour (137). The overall K/D average for the G Wagon was 1.28. The following is a list of those who achieved a K/D above the average and had at least 15 kills.
Pawz - 207/34 = 6.09
Soulyss - 117/44 = 2.93
TwinBoom - 39/14 = 2.79
Latrobe - 33/12 =2.75
wil3ur - 21/8 =2.63
Lazer - 15/6 = 2.5
Snuggie - 108/49 = 2.2
RedBull - 28/13 = 2.15
shifty - 28/15 =1.87
Bludy - 50/31 = 1.61
HL - 30/20 = 1.5
Triton28 - 120/88 = 1.36
My analysis:
The average K/D for the above was 2.53. Total kills for the above were 796 or 61% of the 1,314 kills in the 38G. In addition, I've found that:
- Pawz needs a harder plane to fly. I propose HTC model the YP-38 in post 1939 speed test crash configuration (right) to challenge him. (http://www.456fis.org/THE%20P-38/xp38crash.jpg).
- Soulyss and Twinboom are simply conducting business as usual.
- Latrobe is showing us all up by bringing his voodoo to the 38.
- Lazer doesn't need wep to kill things.
- Redbull does occasionally fly a man's plane.
- Shifty and Bludy are haxxoring.
- Triton28 occupies his natural spot of only slightly above average.
Now it's on to the wishlist to lobby for Pawz and his new ride. :old:
-
Doh. I could have made the list if you went back another tour. I haven't flown much lately.

There were several names I expected to be on this list but were not.
On a really slow day at work perhaps I'll dig back for the last year and obtain something more than a snapshot. I have to be careful though. If I do too much stat digging Lusche will kneecap me to protect his status. :uhoh
And you sir. You need to tell real life to take a hike and get to flyin! :old:

Real men fly big, heavy planes with no WEP. WEP is over rated! :D

When the hell did I fly that thing :headscratch:

Maybe one of the 38 guys slipped you some GHB? I'm not saying they did or that I had anything to do with it... but ya know... I'm just tryin' to help you out... ya know?

I will make sure the G Wagon Supreme Triumvirate Council (GWSTC) sees the above stats. It is up to them to accept or reject your previous tour statistics for current consideration.

I figured most of the 80th would have a few kills in it. Maybe some just haven't logged the time in the last month. :headscratch:

Let them know only 3 people got over 100kills in it that tour :old:

Most of the guys who enjoy the 'G' haven't been playing much lately. It would explain Pawz taking up so much slack! :)

What we need to do is change it up a bit. After this tour let's have the 38 and A5 drivers swap it up. The top-10 of each (at least those gutsy enough to take the challenge) need to fly the other bird until they get 30 kills (close to middle of 40 I measure and 15 you are measuring) and see who is really bad prettythang in the 'skills to pay the bills' department. Then we'll compare K/d.
Who is up to the challenge?

I can die in the A5 as well as anything else. :D
But beware sir. In a battle of plane designers, Kelly Johnson pwnz Kurt Tank many times over. You might just find yourself falling in love. :devil

Without looking at stats, the only 80th members that I can think of off the top of my head that spend a good deal of their P-38 sorties in the G would be myself, Corkyjr, Pawz who's a relatively recent convert, and probably Cactus.
I would guess most fly the J, but we have more than a couple L fans as well.

They're all sexy. :D
I have it in my head if I can do reasonably well in the G, I should be that much better in the others. Plus the G has the "Miss Virginia" skin. :aok

Nice fraulines! See, the 38 bird was captured and as a gesture to the captured American aviators we drapped hot German chicks on the plane, took pictures and gave it to the Americans to let them know...

Sexy chicks are in every country! :old:
Sexy airplanes are not made in Germany! :old:

Triton, did you miss the girls on the airplane? I worry you just saw the airplane. There were girls on it. Go look again.

I'd fly a G model, but my Seeing Eye dog is in the shop :D
-
Real life has kept me from my 38G but it is my ride of choice and is the follow through on a pledge made back in Airwarrior that if I ever got an early model 38 that is all I'd fly. Note that there is only one 38G driver in game who has his name on the nose of his 38G :aok
The rest of the 38G drivers are converts, and clearly far better in it then I've ever been :)

Says you. The PTO 38G pilots were doing just fine thanks. We took em along for back massages and to take care of the joystick for us on those long flights.

Sounds like the logic of a Luftwaffe flyer who can't get a woman to go anywhere near his bird :)

It most certainly is. HO'ing was apparently all the rage in the early days.

Actually, the '38 was 'sold' to the American public as a bomber interceptor. The 'brick' was probably for defense against bomber gunners.
