Title: PM friendlies by right clicking dot on map
Post by: Torquila on March 04, 2013, 04:00:52 PM
- I wish I can tune my PM frequency to people by right clicking on their dot on the map and using the drop down menu (option).

The problem is, unless you have that friendly marked as a wingman, it would be tough to figure out to click on the dot of the person you wish to send the PM to.  It would be quicker and easier to select their name from the roster and tune to them.

Oh this would be great to have armchair generals able to reach across the map to communicate with their unwilling subordinates.  Sorry but -1

Maybe you can have an option to enable/disable it in flight?

Why do you want this?

You had to purposly forget the color of the map dot while creating the wish. If it were granted, from past experience with the game, HTC would probably limit it to countryman only dots on the map. There are endless ways to abuse this regardless of it's seeming innocence.

You can already move to the base a countryman is operating from visa the roster, and tune to players visa the roster along with .P<ID>. If he is a squadmate you have .sr, then squad channel. And the ever ubiquitous green text channel to throw a shoutout from.

If it's a convoluted request for the red dots being resolved to a name, then the option for the Red con's ID to be shown like green freindlies has never been granted.

I can see it's use, if there is someone in a certain spot and you want some intel but don't know who it is, click on dot and ask away. I know you can do this on country but 1/2 the time I pay no attention to country but always notice a PM coming in.

I think that would mostly break the functionality.  Many people would disable it and even if a message popped up telling you your target had it disabled, how often would you try to use it when it was often or usually blocked?

What? Haven't you ever wondered who the green dot was in 9 7 6 and what was over there. Use your words.
