GV guys and history buffs would probably enjoy it the most…
Tigers in the Mud
By Otto Carius (he was a Commander in the 502nd Heavy Panzer Battalion)
He lived in a small town in Germany where my wife was born. Her cousin had him write a note in the book and sign a picture of him in it.
It was a different perspective from anything else I have read…which made it interesting for me.

I bought a book in Knutsford on Saturday where Patten stayed in England when he was naughty :old:
Its about Colonel Hutchinson who was a puritan and fought with Cromwell in the English Civil war.
Problem is its in "Puritan English" every second word refers to the "Grace of God" and "Smiting the Sinners" etc.
Prince Rupert of the Palatine of the Rhine was German fought for his Uncle King Charles I, we sent him packing with his tail between his legs :)
We also named a Bear after him :old:

Thanks for the info. I wish we had a "WWII History" forum where topics of the actual war including a book referral section could be shared.
