How far from the edge of map, staying inside of the regular map space, do you need to be before the arrows show up as someone being outside of the map boundary? And if I were noe does it matter on the arrows?

Right at the border.

Right at the border.
I thought it was Left?
:noid

I took a left at the border once. Ended up walking back across the next morning with no shirt, a turquoise striped sweater I traded a watch for (Timex, not Rolex), a fat lip, and a smile.

Danggg....
I took the right turn and 4 hours later in the middle of nowhere found a goat ranch. Four days later I chewed off the ropes and walked another 3 days back to the road fork in my skivvies. Aspen, I found the 6'5" 300lb woman who brings milk to the place you had fun at. When the boarder patrol found me wandering half dead back on the US line. The agents could bairly walk stright they were laughing so hard.
And here's what one of them said between gut renching laughter.
Dude you took the right turn at the fork didn't you? I bet you got directions from her brother over in Amarillo at the truck stop. Last month it was spring break and he sent an SUV full of college boys out to that goat ranch.

I wish there was a "2 minute warning". Once you've gone over the edge of the printed world you have exactly 2 minutes to get back across or else you go "puuf". This flying off the map in to Never Never Land is a bit gamey.

I went out to the edge of the terrain....
Buying bread from a man in Brussels
He was six-foot-four and full of muscles
I said, "Do you speak-a my language?"
He just smiled and gave me a vegemite sandwich
And he said,
"I come from a land down under
Where beer does flow and men chunder
Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder?
You better run, you better take cover."

"For the World is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky"
It goes from darbar to arrow on the outermost grid line.

Tempest always comes back from AFK at around 48,000 feet, 150 miles from the nearest field and about two minutes of gas left. :rofl

I thought it was Left?
