Be nice to have this skin.  The real Japanese BF-109e.

(I don't want to sound like Krusty, but...)

Is there any evidence of the birds sent to Japan seeing action? Germany sent a bunch of aircraft to Japan, including Stukas and Me262s but I can't find any records of any of them seeing combat of any kind and none of them made any appearance in squadron strength at the front.

edit: I didn't add the word "Can't" the sentence, Oops.

Absolutely no evidence that these planes were used other than evaluations nor any records of any kinds that the Japanese added guns to the few Bf 109Es they received.  However, USAAF and USN/USMC pilots in the SW Pacific, when first encountered the Ki-61, reported it to mission debriefers as Bf 109Es which led to a lot of false reports of IJAAF flying Bf 109E or even German pilots flying them.

moin

he is just talking about adding the skin.

why not, i remember the swish skin on some 109s and thay didn t see combat too.

and don t forget the civilian after war painting on the 190a5.  so a Japanese 109 would be something different but historically correct.

Skins in game must be of combat used aircraft. Sure, some older skins have don't fit that criteria, but as the aircraft are updated those skins become invalid. I.E. the black and red P-40E.

The Japanese 109 was just used to evaluate the plane for a potential deal to build them under license. Although the only deal reached was licensing the DB-601 engine, used in the K161.

The Germans and Japanese didn't cooperate very well.  The Germans tried for most of the war to get a license for the Mitsubishi Ki-46 as it was a far better PR aircraft than anything the Germans had, but the Japanese would never give it to them.

That's -III. Ki-46-II still had a stepped windscreen.

Ah.  I thought the stepped windscreen was introduced with the -III.  My mistake.

Skins in this game must be historic combat skins. No prototypes. No evaluation planes.

The Japanese didn't fly Bf109s in combat, period. So it won't be skinned for in-game use. The best you can do is fly the Ki-61 instead.
