I wish (please) there was one more taxiway added on large airfields so that if you park (or are waiting) in your aircraft in the closest centraly-located east-most fighter hangars, it would be convenient for rapidly deploying on any of the three (usually) west-facing runways. As is,it can only rapidly access two (and the one you can't is one of the closest!).
This small addition would be at a minimal cost, as taxiways go in AH or the real world, and a huge timesaver for aircraft wishing to deploy from the central and east-most fighter hangar (or neighboring bomber hangar) to the (usually) NorthWest runway.
I would like to present three proposals for the new taxiway. My personal favorite is the "green" taxiway, but "red" I think is the most logistical and direct. Either one will requre some relandscaping of the trees in that vacinity.
I think blue would also be nice as a bonus addition and allow an easier access to the taxiways that would lead aircraft to the three East runways. It would also "clean up" that dogleg (and very narrow) taxiway and would aesthetically make that satellite hangar seem less orphaned from that large pad the other two hangars living on it.
Please and thanks!

:airplane: Good suggestion! While we are at it, I wish Hi Tech would consent to allowing Pyro to add some parked aircraft, both on ramps and in hangars! It would certainly add "class" to an already "classy" game.

I like the idea of some static targets/eye-candy/"clutter" around fields and hangars, but to what extent and how much of a good thing would it really be?
IE: the current "indestructable" hangar has lots of static clutter/eye-candy inside of it for some background while selecting your vehicle/plane, however it is all collidable (if you have ever tryed to drive/taxi/barreled-through-during-a-botched-landing inside of the indestuctable hangar).
Would adding a static aircraft/vehicles inside of a hangar or on the ramp render them useless to players trying to park inside of it? I think it could, and that could be an issue. Even if say you park a P51 on one side of the hangar, enough room for a second one to clear it on the other side, a plane like the P-38, Ta-152, etc. might be in too tight a spot. Although if we had some player drivable tugs at airfields, we could move a player's non-static plane out of the hangar they pulled into but cant pull out of because of statics blocking them, or even maybe haul those players who botched landing their damaged aircraft/vehicle to concrete....
Make a new thread, lets just keep this one about some simple taxiway additions, please :rofl

Wouldn't it require an overhaul? Taxiways are legitimate landing spots after all. You'd have to code in the new taxiways to allow for landing after you've added them. :headscratch:
I'm not against this. :) I actually do taxi around sometimes for the hell of it after all. :aok

I'm not privy to the inside details, but I think your three standard airfields are kind of a stamp/template that can be edited once and when called/applied by any map is just inserted at location X, Y, Z and maybe with a rotation for the orientation of it.
It's actualy a requirement for user-created submited MA maps, they can only use default map objects and can't use or create their own custom ones (to keep map sizes down to a minimum... I hope as more players move to high speed this gets hanged to a limited extent, I think variety is cool).
If my understanding is correct, then HTC could update the large airfield template/stamp and it would apply itself imediatley to all maps that use that specific default object.
A good example would be the addition of the flak88 relatively recently. HTC updated their field objects with the new guns and it aplied itself to all the maps that use those default fields (vehicle, port, small/medium/large airfields).
