Folks, I want to post an apology for my actions earlier today in the WWI and Mid War arenas. 68Mason and myself went in to both arenas and took some easy kills on each other after switching sides in order to rack up some achievement points. It was stupid, petty, childish and does not reflect the high standards I've set for myself and the standards the 68th Lightning Lancers holds for it's members.
I sincerely apologize to the members of the AH community and to my squad for my actions.

What you should do now is face public execution in the form of a fighter dual with 1 vs. 10.
If you win we will forgive you, if you fail you are a memory.
"hey, at least it would get more people into the wwI area, that's my main goal." :rock

Take out the radar at 10 Bish bases and resup 10 Knight bases and we'll call it square.

Who cares? you play a cartoon game with cartoon pilots and it's your $15. Do as you wish.
-
You must both rename your ingame ID, even just temporarily, to wipe out all your achievements and perks, it is the only way! :devil
(hey, invite me along next time, I got some achievements I'd like to get done PDQ)

Oh they still do, but too many people just ignore them. :frown:

exactly not.
You have the right to play as YOU wish. You do NOT have the right to make OTHERS play as you wish.

He admitted his behavior publically and offered a public apology.
No need for a witch hunt or further drama.

This detracts from the original discussion.
68Raptor.. everyone's gotta screw up sometime. ;) Some have a better sense of humility than others. <S>

There shouldn't be a discussion to begin with. I find it sad he feels he needs to apologize at all.

Or spelling. :neener:

Uh-Oh...maybe Mason didn't want to give himself up :devil

:lol
ya I suk at spelling for sure :rofl
I do agree that a public apology goes a long way, I am one to think highly of someone who will do that instead of changing names and trying to hide from it.

playing the game is one thing....I do agree play how you want.... what he did was not playing the game, its the same as marking your own scores on the score sheet...which is cheating.
so yes in a way you are right but you are not connecting what he did with unfairly cheating the system, which he did....

Thanks for owning up.
In one way it is stupid though ultimately this is not "the internet." This is a community of people that interface via technology. Integrity matters. Character is what you do when no one is watching.
This generation of Americans has really taken to situational ethics where ultimately nothing matters. Young ladies giving birth to unwanted babies and trying to flush them down the toilet or throw them in the garbage can. Young men shooting and killing people just to see what it is like.
Integrity matters. Always. Everywhere. Especially when no one is watching. Anyone who says it is anything less is part of the problem.
You are doing the right thing to simply note that you sense you activity was less than honorable and you will act accordingly. :salute

While I agree with you, Gaming the game is a far cry from giving birth to unwanted babies and killing people in real life. You guys cant be taking this game that seriously can you?

Very well put, it seems to be a surprise to most people that I am one of the people that have a code of ethics in game.
-Don't hold a grudge, it's just a game
-Don't shoot a landing plane.
-Don't disrespect others.
I don't even approve of vulching a field, however if it is in the interest of capturing a base and serves a tactical purpose, then I will vulch. As for rule number two, I have actually called off squaddies who were trying to shoot down a landing plane. It fells like a cheap kill to me, and it lends itself to cowardice.
I completely agree that this is a community and not a game. It's one of the main reasons I love playing Aces High. Most of the players know each other, and are willing to help each other in some way. When you go out today and you buy a game that is sold to three million people with mics, the first thing you hear is complete disrespect and hateful racial slurs being thrown back and forth. It makes my ears bleed.
While I agree with you, Gaming the game is a far cry from giving birth to unwanted babies and killing people in real life. You guys cant be taking this game that seriously can you?
Most, if not all of us take the game seriously to an extent. If you throw your computer at the wall because you were vulched by the same guy three times, you are taking it too seriously. Other wise, it is up to the player to decide when they need to just step away. I have done this several times, it's not worth getting your blood pressure up.
As for the OP, it takes a real pair of stones to publicly admit when you've done something wrong. I see two suitable options:
-Take the punishment that HTC staff deems fit
-Blow all the perks you farmed, by crashing perked planes into the distant country side away from any possible proxies.

Its a outrage!
What about standards The GFC had striven to achieve sullied by such behaviour :cry

If you game a game, which is fantasy, then how much integrity do you show in real life? Integrity is something that runs through you at all times, no matter what. Cheating or "gaming" a game shows how one responds in real life...

Again.. some have a better sense of humility than others. This is now proven very obvious. ;)

Some of us take interacting with real people through this game seriously. Online or face-to-face is irrelevant. Respect is earned, not bestowed.
-
Things that make you go hmmmm.
Well, I see valid points on both sides. I however have given up, now back to not giving a rats about very much anything anymore. One could devote the rest of their life to trying to encourage others to have integrity, some do, the tide won't be stemmed. Enjoy what you've been given here, our stay(s) could be shorter than we expect. I'll honor my own integrity and not worry about yours.
