If they restore it to flying condition I say good, but if they restore it just to make it pretty for the museum I say bad!

If they don't intend to fly it I say leave it as is.

It is handy for me as a skinner to see planes restored to their "as they were in WW2" condition rather than the more usual showroom standard. You can really see all those little scratches and chips and underlying paint wearing through. That stuff rarely shows up well on actual WW2 photos.

It looks like the pilot stepped out of it after it's last sortie only yesterday. It's perfect as it is. Like the Spitfire Mk 1 in the Imperial War Museum in London. The charm of it is that it's untouched and original.
