Added country symbols to aircraft carriers so you can tell which enemy country it belongs to.
What does this mean? Does this mean you'll see an icon above the carrier?
Damn, I really enjoyed when some nim-nuts runs away to ack hide and goes to the wrong CV, it really makes me laugh.

Two bugs so far;
1. No skins are available in the Main Arena.
2. Stars for the achievement system are showing up in SYSTEM reports, even when 'hide' is selected.

That seems more appropriate to a -I than a -II, no? I thought there were improvements to the Ki-43's strength in the -II.

That's not a bug that's a feature. So that one may know his place in the social strata more easily.

10,000 rounds of ammo for the quad .30 cals in the rear turret of the Lancaster. Nice. :aok
So now the Lanc can actually not worry about ammo when defending. When in the rear turret just hold the trigger down. :D

Oh, and before anyone bashes the He111 or Oscar, just relax a bit. HTC will be on top of any issues that may arise. If you find an error or something that is questionable be mature enough to bring it up in a meaningful manner.
btw... did anyone read that HTC fixed the reload rates for the Pzr IV F1 and F2? :aok A simple question in the "bugs" thread and they fixed it.

I love that they modeled the bombs leaving the He111 bay correctly!
I only had a few mins before work to check out the update, but I was impressed.
The Ki-43 is slow but supremely controllable.

I was a little confused about why the Germans grouped their 20mm of the He111 in the front... guess the RAF where making a lot of head on passes.

The only update/upgrade did to the Fw190F-8 this time around was the addition of the 500kg SAP bomb. By the way... it only takes TWO of them to destroy a hanger. :aok
Hopefully, HTC will add in the 8/50kg bomb capability sooner than later. I'm not sure how popular the quad 20mm's were on the F-8, or anything else for guns for that matter.

That seems more appropriate to a -I than a -II, no? I thought there were improvements to the Ki-43's strength in the -II.
The -I was so weak that even superficial damage put the airframe out of commission for a long time while it was repaired. The skin was made thicker so diving speed was improved, but improved as compared to the -I, not necessarily "on par with US planes" if you see my point.
I'm not exactly sure what the VNE speed on the Ki-43-II was, but it was quite easily out-dived by every US plane it ever met. They ripped wings off when dive bombing in -I models, and that was most likely at much slower speeds. I rather suspect that 425mph may be far too generous.
From Saburo Sakai:
The A6M2 had a top speed of 309 mph. and a maximum allowable dive speed of 350 mph. It became extremely heavy
on the controls above 275 mph, and approaching 350 mph, the Zero's controls were so heavy it was impossible to roll. A further comment by Sakai was that the skin on the wings started to wrinkle, causing the pilot great concern, since a number of Zero's had shed their wings in a dive.
If the A6M2, with (by most accounts) better durability than the Ki-43, could only dive 350mph, I doubt the Ki-43-II could go to 425mph. The P-40Bs were limited to 480mph, though some pilots pushed that to 510mph. <-- using a quick google reference on the P-40B.
If anything, HTC should probably bring that dive speed down for the Ki-43. And it should suffer very strong locking on the controls well before falling apart.
Fish: Some field mods stuck a 20mm in the nose gunner's position but the main standard modification was the one in the ventral gondola. This allowed the bombers to also use it for ground attack and anti-shipping purposes. It wasn't really for defense as much as offense. It could angle down more in the gondola, is my guess.

Pretty much. Makes a lot more sense to fire head on to a bomber who's front is almost all glass and kill the pilot/crew than to shoot other places.

May be, I think New Ki43 was based from Ki84.
Because,new Ki43's flap is not combat flap,it's a same Ki84's it!.
I hope ,add combat flap to Ki43.
because it's characteristic of Ki43.
and dive speed limit of Ki43-II was same level as A6M3.(660km/h)

I'd be very careful in calling the new models "bad" looking compared to [insert]. I think they look great and the Lanc and C202/205 look great, imo. They are a HUGE betterment over the previous models. Me thinks as time goes on and the high res packs are downloaded and any other bugs that are found are ironed out I think the new stuff will shine just like everything else HTC has released as of late. :)

I think they accidentally linked the hires pack for the last version. When I went to the link at first it showed AHHIRES2290.EXE and 185mb, now it shows AHHIRES230.EXE and 207mb. If you installed AHHIRES2290.EXE then I think you've got the low res textures.

The Ki-43 is a lot of fun and the guns are much better than I expected them to be. I broke the rudder off in a high speed dive chasing a P-47M but the entire airframe was creaking and groaning so it wasn't unexpected and it didn't seem to make a lot of difference anyway when I got into a fight with batfinkv a little later. The PW he gave me did make a difference but being the gentleman he is he escorted me home. :salute bat.

Here's a practical comparison between old and new Lanc models:

Note while the old model at a practical service ceiling of ~27k, the new one can barely make it to 25 with a lot of effort. In fact, when I ended the test at 24.6 the climb rate had fallen to something like 40 ft/minute.
