I wish that the avi converter in the film viewer would keep the game sounds.
-
I would like to have film viewer that is actually able to convert tracks to .avi files. At least I was not able to make it work.
All I've got is .avi with tower "cockpit" through all the time of the movie.

Have you tried with the recently released film viewer?

If it is bundled with AH installer - then yes. Or should I download it separately?
-
When you watch the film in the viewer, does it look "normal"? Are you converting the whole film to AVI by using the menu, or do you set up shots and then stream the shot to AVI when the shot is played back?
-
What CODEC did you select when you were trying to convert to AVI? What was the frame count in the progress indicator during the conversion?
What Imadot said also. If the film does not playback, then it will not convert.

The film plays back all right.
What I tried to do is roughly:
- load film
- check "Icons" and "Use recorded views"
- press "Save As AVI" button
- fill in .avi name, choose "1280x720" size, 30 fps
- here comes codec selection. I tried various codecs. "XviD MPEG4 Codec" which just hangs. "Cinepack Codec by Radius" - it worked, processed and saved about 3K frames leaving tower throughout whole video file. As last resort I tried "Full Frames" - same result.
PS. I tried to convert only interesting part of flight (which is obvious thing to do) and didn't try to work with source track.
PPS. Here (https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B5ivR5KzFFQqLUVOMmxqZUJjZEk/edit?usp=sharing) is my .ahf file which I'm experimenting on.

That is an old film. That is why it is not converting. If it is not an old film, there is something else wrong with it.

You are right, Skuzzy. I've just recorded track in offline arena and it converted just fine!
Does it mean that tracks from old AH version can't be converted at all? Is so and there is incompatibility with old tracks, then it should be mentioned somewhere in release notes. Or may be it was?

There is no guarantee films will be able to play from version to version of the game. Many times it is simply not possible to support an older format.
If you have older films, if it best to grab the old version of Aces High the film was made with, install it, then capture the film with FRAPS in order to convert it to an AVI.
