Title: HTC website is not safe.
Post by: madhogg on April 18, 2013, 06:09:38 PM
According to the I.T. guys at my job this website is unsecured, unsafe. I'm no longer able to visit from my PC at work... I can go to FB or YouTube no problem, but when ever I type hitechcreations.com the Barracuda web filter will not allow me access. The IT guys said the site lacks proper protection..maybe that's why the forums were down for so long...I think it was a group of Brits who hacked the server and took down the forum...that did happend  the next day after banks in Europe came under attack by European hackers, it was a few hackers who did this. Maybe one of this guys hacked my PC and fryed my motherboard... I will never know... How safe is HTC?

The only "Barracuda" i know is a 1960's soul label.

I have a copy of "Jack Montgomery" "Don't turn your back on me" I bought it for £35 in 1987 :old:

Its now worth £300 :old: (its poo by the way)

Yes in the UK or Great Britain as we like to call it we get preferential and premium graphics due to having superior access to Broadband, which over the next 20 years will be available in some parts of the colonies :old:

The superior graphics access is not available on Axis planes due to lack of interest :old:

Thank you for your time and Interest :)

Taking it from the top

1)  The recent outage of the bulletin board was due to a hardware failure.  Nothing more.
2)  Our WEB site was hacked, using a Joomla exploit.  We took corrective actions to prevent it again.  The BBS server, nor the game servers were, and never have been, hacked.
3)  Our WEB server is at one location, and BBS servers is in a physically different location.  The game servers are in, yet, another location apart from the WEB and BBS servers.  All this is done to elevate the security of the game and the user data associated with the game.  Within those locations are additional levels of security to further protect the information users entrust to us.

In the 14 years we have been in business, we have never had a clients data compromised, nor has their computer been compromised by using any of the tools we provide.

FYI:  Even kidding around about cheating and hacking will get you banned from the board and the game.

Many companies are employing software to cut down on employee's wasting company time on thier networks. It cost them millions of dollars in productivity every year. Like others said gaming websites are on the list of excluded sites.

                                                      Get to work!  :old:

lost and stolen phones are locked by the insurance company, not all of them but I think now a days a good portion of them.  I think what you are doing is buying the phone from the insurance company.

btw when I lost my droid x, one of my neighbors found it and i was able to track it to him.  he found it at the store and brought it home and it logged into my wifi.  when I activated the tracking software it brought to directly to his house.  you should have seen the look on his face when I asked him if he had found a phone at the grocery store 2 miles away  :rofl.

Every FB app/game wants access at any time to your personal info,
and will use/share it with anyone they want.

Every FB app/game wants access at any time to your personal info,

Your problem isn't sharing the personal information in your account if you give Facebook fake information about yourself.

Does Facebook know my real name?  No.
Does Facebook know my actual day, month, or year of birth?  No.
Does Facebook know my actual cell phone number?  No.
Does Facebook know an email address that I've used for anything other than Facebook?  No.

I feel ok using Facebook as much as I do with these simple, obvious precautions.
