Got in a fight with 2 UFO-4s last night. The first one got really peppered at the 54 second mark of the film (slow film speed to 11 and watch in external view) - including a 37mm hit on the left stabilizer. The plane took no apparent damage from the 37mm hit, as he flew home intact.

Film included below.

Is more than one person shooting at the f4u?

I debugged the film and everything was working as expected, it's just a lucky distribution of hits for the guy in the first plane. You hit him with 9 .50s and 21 .30s. No 37mm hit. You smoked his engine and wounded the pilot and came within a sneeze of exploding him. The second plane you hit with 2 .30s, 2 .50s and a 37mm. The 37mm knocked off his tail.

OK, but the telltale Cheezy Poof from a big cannon hit is clearly displayed in the film.

Me, myself and I.

On the first plane? I only saw a 37mm hit on the second plane.

I took the picture in the OP from the film at @54 seconds. It's the last sprite on the plane and a big puff ball appears.
Same moment, from a different angle:

Either the poof is showing up by mistake or the -4's damage model needs looking at.

I can say with certainty that the first plane was not hit with a 37mm because that's logged. The bug is a display issue in your film viewer. I don't see a 37mm hit on the first plane when I view the film. My guess is that you barely missed the plane with a 37mm and somehow your film viewer is out of sync by a frame and it thinks it needs to show that hit animation when the film is run. Can you try to reboot and then watch the film again?

Re-started computer and it's still showing up as a cannon hit.
